Right before I started this thread, I posted one about the "Popeye" movie that came out in 1980. The fact that I wrote about a movie that came out thirty years ago was to commemorate the thirty views of my thread before that one. Well, right under that thread is one called "Sylvia's Butt Part II". For those of you who are new to this board, the Sylvia whose butt I am writing about is Paul's mother from this series. In any event, this thread has twenty-five views and zero responses. I decided to commemorate this event by writing about the first thing that comes to mind that happened twenty five years ago. The event that I am going to mention is the birth of the prime-time series known as the "Golden Girls"!

It is interesting you should mention the Golden Girls at a time when Betty White's career is experiencing a resurgence. She just became a regular on the new series "Hot in Cleveland", is preparing to host "Saturday Night Live", and has been suggested as a candidate to play Sheldon's grandmother on an episode of "Big Bang Theory".

I am posting here, pretty much, to express how much of a treat I think that it is to see this page finaly get some action! I just finished responding to the one other thread that I started that has recently received a response. The whole thing is very exciting to me! See you around!
