At this point, I have no problem admitting that I have beaten into the ground what I can think to say about this fine series! I also know that I have beaten to death the idea of posting threads about site traffic! This is the main reason why it has been as long as it has been since I have posted anything anywhere on this site. However, seeing that the number of views of my last thread has stagnated at thirty, I find it impossible to hold my piece! Thirty years ago was the start of the eighties. There are a lot of things that the eighties is known for. If other people would like to post messages about their memories of the eighties, I would be very interested in reading what you have to say. However, I would like to mention something that happened in the first year of this decade. In 1980, the "Popeye" movie was released! Do any of you guys have any memories of this film? I thought that it was pretty decent. My second to last thread has twenty-five views. After I post this, I think I will write about something equally significant that happened twenty-five years ago! See you in a minute!

I remember the Popeye movie. I thought it was very well cast. Especially Robin Williams as Popeye, Shelley Duvall as Olive Oyl, and Paul L. Smith as Bluto. This was one of the better attempts at making a live action movie out of a cartoon.

The first thing that I would like to do is express how happy I am that this page is finaly getting some action! It has been months since anyone other than me has posted here! I would now like to touch a little bit on what the one respondee said about the "Popeye" movie. I agree that it was one of Hollywood's better attempts to make a live-action movie out of a cartoon. What does this poster (or anyone else) think of the two live-action "Flintstones" movies? I thought that they were pretty decent.

I thought the first Popeye movie was pretty good. I enjoyed it. I didn't like the second one as much. I would have preferred to see the same cast instead of an all new cast. But I guess considering it was a prequel the recasting was probably necessary to make the characters look younger than in the first movie.
