You know something major has to be going down if the captain of the mother ship is visiting one of his spin-off ships.

On Law & Order: SVU's April 28 episode, Law & Order vet Sam Waterston will make a rare visit as Executive A.D.A. Jack McCoy, when SVU special guest star Sharon Stone’s Jo Marlowe makes a major faux pas.

Though Waterston appeared on SVU from his L&O office in 2000 and 2007, SVU executive producer Neal Baer tells me, “For the first time in Law & Order: SVU’s eleven year history, Sam will show up in the SVU squad room."

It marks the first time Waterston has worked with Chris Meloni (Elliot Stabler) and Baer says the two got along fabulously.

I seem to recall Fred Thompson, when he played L&O's DA, crossed over onto SVU quite a few times. I know that Jerry Orbach, Jesse Martin and Angie Harmon appeared on SVU as well...but I never knew Sam had never crossed over onto any of the spinoffs. It will be interesting to see!! :cool:
