Jane Lynch has confirmed that she is engaged to her long-term girlfriend.

The actress, who plays Sue Sylvester in Glee, was thought to be engaged in January but her representative later dismissed the speculation.

However, Lynch has now told Us Weekly that she is planning to marry her partner, psychologist Lara Embry.

"Yes, yes, it's true!" she said, adding that she is still not sure when they will tie the knot.

"We don't have any plans at all yet," she explained. "But I have a ring and everything. We're very happy and very excited."

"Glee" star Jane Lynch has wed her partner Lara Embry in Massachusetts.

The couple exchanged vows at the Blue Heron Restaurant in Sunderland on Monday.



U.S. publication Star reports only 21 guests attended the nuptials, which were held on the restaurant's outdoor patio, overlooking Sugarloaf mountain.

A restaurant employee tells Star, "They've been planning the event for the past few months. We were all so excited. They're really great people."



Lynch and Embry, a psychologist, chose to wed in Massachusetts because same sex marriages are not legal in California, where the couple lives.
