View Full Version : Where Have All The Traditional Game Show Hosts Gone?

No offense to Drew Carey, Wayne Brady or Howie Mandel, but growing up, I was blessed to watch game shows with the likes of Wink Martindale, Bill Cullen, Bob Eubanks, etc. These to me were real hosts. It was almost as if they were born to host a game show. Now, it seems like networks want to skew younger, so they bring in some hot shot comedian or so called "flavor of the month" celebrity to host a show.

Is it any coincidence that most of these hip new game shows fizzle out so fast? Where is Bob Barker when you need him??? ;) Is the traditional, classic game show host extinct forever? It looks like Pat Sajak and Alex Trebek are all that's left.

Sadly it seems like Pat and Alex truly are the last of a vanishing breed.

Yea I agree Brian. That's one of the reasons I don't watch many game shows. I can't even watch Family Feud or the Newlywed Game because of their current hosts.

Don't forget John 0'Hurley,of "Family Feud".He was great and will be sorely missed as host when Steve Harvey takes over as host.
