AND those pop songs that sounded country but weren't?These ARE Country-1964's "Together Again",1967's "Waitin' in your Welfare Line" and 1967's "Sam's Place"by the late Buck Owens,1965's "What's He Doin'in My World?"1966's "Somebody Like Me",and 1967's "Turn the world around(the other way, back it up and stop on yesterday,Just take my hand, together we can ...turn the world around the other way)by the late Eddy Arnold, and these that are pop,but sound country(sort of)-1963's "Only Love Can Break a Heart"by the late Gene Pitney,1965's "(Got a)Little Bit of Heaven"by Ronnie Dove, and 1963's "You're the Reason I'm Livin"and "18 Yellow Roses"by the late Bobby Darin?Remember these 1960's songs?

"Only Love Can Break A Heart" is rock and roll, not country.
To answer your question I know all those tunes, and they are great.
Thats back when country was real country and not this suburban modern day mess that sounds like it was written in a NYC Penthouse.
I prefer old country up to the mid 70's myself.

Yes,that is the ONLY kind of country music I like.Oldies .Not today's stuff. And remember 1970-1971's "For the Good Times"by Ray Price(#11)?That is a very beautiful song, and is one of the few 1970's songs(both country and rock and roll)that I like.In my opinion, the BEST music(both rock and roll AND country)are from the 1950's,1960's and some 1970's,although I DO like 1970's-1980's country group Alabama. As well as The Bellamy Brothers, with their hit "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me?",Another good country song.
