May the force be witty.

Lucasfilm Animation said Monday that "Star Wars" is coming to TV as an animated comedy series. The sitcom is still in development and doesn't have a title yet.

Lucasfilm says it will explore the comic aspects of that "galaxy far, far away" as it playfully and irreverently confronts the saga's characters and mythology.

Part of the creative team is Seth Green, who helped hatch the popular "Robot Chicken." He promises the new show will answer the question, "What do these Star Wars characters do when they're not overthrowing Empires?"

No network or start date was announced for the series.

I guess that dramatic series that was supposed to take place between Episodes III and IV has gone bye-bye.

George Lucas won't be satisfied until he's run Star Wars into the ground creatively. Weren't the last three movies bad enough?

Yeah, I like Seth Green a lot but this seems like a slap in the face for all the Star Wars fans who have yearned for decades to see a serious continuation of Luke, Han, Leia, et al's adventures.

Apparently not only can you "never go home again" but at some point you even forget where home is!

I don't think George Lucas et al care where home is. They're only concerned with where the bank is!!!!
