I would like to know what any of you think is the worst decision the any of the networks have made in getting their respective fall schedules lined up. (It can include cancellations.)

Personally, I think the worst decision made was ABC's canceling of "Norm." They would probably have renewed it if they hadn't moved it to Fridays (where it got buried in the ratings).

CBS in thinking that getting rid of Diagnosis Murder was a good thing. It's going to hurt them--they canceled the veteran shows(Diagnosis, Nash) and decided to try and get a younger audience.(Let's see if it'll work--I doubt it) All this shows(to me anyway) is that CBS isn't loyal to the shows that are on their network. And I know there are a ton of people angry about the cancellation of Diagnosis Murder(me being one of them obviously). It still brought in very respectable ratings!

I know DVD won't be doing business with CBS again. He always claimed CBS tried everything in their power to bury the show--and that's too bad because I heard he's interested in doing something with MTM in the near future. So, hopefully, this cancellation will bring better things in DVD's favor.

I can't believe that FOX renewed Family Guy! That show was awful! And why did CBS move Touched by an Angel to Saturdays? I never watched it, but it seemed that Sunday was a good place for it.

Madness, I liked DM too. Bad moves CBS.

I can't believe they cancelled Grosse Pointe, but renewed Nikki...that's just lame! Grosse Pointe was smart and biting...and Nikki is well, Nikki.

I THINK IT WAS A MISTAKE FOR FOX TO RENEW THE SIMPSONS FOR ANOTHER SEASON.ITS TIME TO END IT.

I think Fox messed up moving Titus to Wednesdays at 9:00. I liked it Tuesday after That 70s show at 8:30.

in reply to what was said about CBS trying for a younger audience.. i cannot believe they are doing this again, they tried this before a few years ago when they tried airing younger shows like " Bless this house" and " Dweeb". Both these shows failed and the ratings on CBS overall plumetted. CBS finnally recovered when they started with their WELCOME HOME campaing. anyway i thought that CBS had learned. anyway my picks for the worst mistakes are as follows:

Cancelling-
Geena Davis Show- if given enough time GEENA could have prospered and become a huge hit like dharama and greg.
Grosse Point- This show was smart and funny, and had a very loyal following, what hurt it was the constant time slot switches. If the WB had kept it in one place long enough, it could have built up an auidence.
Popular- This was one of, if not the best show on the WB and the wb had no reason to cancel it, sure the ratings slipped a little but other than that it was doing great.
Moesha- UPN has to be nuts to cancel this show, it is the only hit show other than wrestling on the network, MOESHA is their staple show.

Moving-
Dark Angel to fridays will kill this show.
Angel to Mondays will do to this show what it did to, Roswell, Safe harbour, Hyperion Bay, and all the other crap that aired in that slot.
Touched by an Angel to Saturdays is a stupid mistake as cbs Sunday nights are a tradition, that should be forever maintained. hopefully CBS does not do what they did in 98 with Cybill and Dr. Quinn and cancle a bunch of high rated shows. ( ie- Everybody loves Raymond, King Of Queens.)
Popstars- moving popstars to thursdays is a big, huge disastor.
Renewing-
Charmed- Charmed without Shanon Dorthey is like Cybill without Cybill Shepherd, it is nothing and should not go on.

If you look at some of the pilots (check the front page of this site), they seem more interesting than some of the shows that they have picked up.
Fox didn't change its Sunday or Monday Night lineups-- good move. It seems that they are also trying to bulk up on a bunch of comedies on Wednesday nights- Fine with me.. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
WB really messed up-- they're losing Buffy to UPN, they're moving all the shows around...
