School officials have charged two teachers with misconduct after the pair was found naked inside an empty classroom.

MIDWOOD, N.Y. - Two female teachers are being charged with misconduct after allegedly being caught naked together in a classroom.

James Madison High School French teacher Cindy Mauro, 34, and Spanish teacher, Alini Brito, 30, were discovered by a school janitor who caught the "undressed" instructors allegedly sharing a kiss in the empty classroom at James Madison High School during a Nov. 20 assembly.

Officials say the women, both tenured teachers, were immediately removed from the classroom following the incident and sent to Department of Education disciplinary chambers.

Outraged students created a Facebook page to sound off on the incident involving the two popular teachers.

When the incident occurred, a spokesperson for the New York City Department of Education confirmed the teachers were reassigned, but fell short of releasing details of the alleged tryst.

"The school is investigating an incident of employee misconduct while the school was having an event in the assembly," school officials said in a statement. "The two teachers, who are tenured, have been reassigned, pending the outcome of the investigation."

DOE officials say the allegations have been proven to be valid and teachers will likely face disciplinary action.

I know this sounds like I'm stuck on a detail, but I really wonder if they would have faced punishment (or at least such harsh punishment) if they were fully clothed and they had just been caught kissing? It strikes me as really odd they would be so foolish as to get naked. I mean, yes, I understand that in the heat of the moment things happen but it just seems such a crazy choice; risking their job and all.


Or was it the orientation of the two that upset the administrators? I mean, let's say a married straight pair of teachers or even a dating pair had been "caught" kissing, but fully dressed. Would that really have been a big deal?

If it was the orientation that was the problem, that's silly. If it was the nudity, well that makes the admins decision understandable but the teachers' judgment really, really poor.

How people choose to live their lives is their own business, but there is a time and a place for this behaviour. They should have known that school is not the place for that. Whatever punishment they get, they brought on themselves.

Boy has school ever changed since I was there. Now you have teachers sleeping with students, teachers getting naked with each other. When I was was school the only thing teachers did was ....teach! Of course that is what teachers are supposed to be doing isn't it?

I don't think a married or straight couple caught making-out in the classroom would be as serious as this.

I mean it probably shouldn't happen out in the open at school like that, but I think it wouldn't be as big as this.

If people were to decide do to this (make out) it should probably happen in the teacher's lounge (or some other private place) where students do not go.


I would think anyone caught nude in school together; teacher, janitor, principal, gay, straight... would be pretty serious.

The way I understand it the students were upset about the teachers being put on leave not about their liaison.

...talk about extracurricular activity LOL....:lol:

(It was so not a smart thing for them to do this...but...when hormones rage...logic and clear thinking fly out the door)
