:birthday: to everyone's favorite Big Guy!! He was so perfect in the role of the bumbling Arthur Carlson. I also enjoyed him as Joanna Kerns' dad on Growing Pains and as the Maytag Repairman.

He was brilliant in the Growing Pains ep. where he had to tell Maggie he was dying! That was the first time I realized what a great dramatic actor Gordon was. Up til then I only thought of him as doing comedy.
