Who do you like better and/or who do you think is better suited for APK? Ellen or Lauren? Just curious!

Frankly I prefered Lauren, physically she was good for Michael J. Fox. Buy with Tracy Pollan it was different... They seemed to be in love in real life so there was a sort of alchemy between them... It was hot when both Michael and Tracy were on screen. And the "At this moment" scene... BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Ellen, for me. Pollan just came off a little sweeter, plus a little better looking. And her chemistry with Fox seemed more natural. Though she was dating Kevin Bacon at the time and he was with Nancy McKeon, Fox did mention in an interview that he was attracted to her. But because of those reasons he didn't make any moves.

Ellen, hands down. She's a wonderful contrast and foil for Alex, and there's some great verbal sparring between them. And Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan's real-life chemistry came through on the screen.

I thought Lauren was pretty bland, and that there wasn't much of a spark there. I also think Courteney Cox is really stiff as an actress, even more so back when she was on "Family Ties".

I think it was definetly Ellen because they just had a special something together.

this is easy: ELLEN!

First of all Ellen was cuter and seemingly more interesting. But also, Courtney Cox went on to become part of the hideous "Friends". That's enough to disqualify her right there.

There were several threads about this exact subject on this board - Therefore, I took the liberty to combine all those into one long thread (It just makes the board messy to have several open threads of the same subject).

This particular thread may seem a little messy right now, since all posts have been merged based on the date they were posted (Posts from the same thread may not be together anymore), but I hope you all can understand and accept that...

Ellen because the chemistry was more natural and it just seemed more right than being with Lauren. They were both good actresses but I definitely preferred Tracy Pollan over Courteney Cox [even though I despise Friends].

Ellen. End of Story. They made a big thing about them falling in Love. They also seemed more in Love. That's probably because they got married in real life. Tracy Pollan had to leave the show because she was pregnant.

I'd hafta go with Ellen. Although Cox and MJF did work rather well off each other, things just seemed more natural with Tracy Pollan (like everyone else has been saying :)). Just my not-so humble opinion :).

I always liked Ellen better. Not only cause she ended up being his future wife, but I just thought they had better chemistry. I mean when they first kissed and danced, that was such a great moment. Lauren wasn't as exciting and to me they didn't blend as well.

I know that lauren was more beutiful. But Ellen was more sexy. Some of those still shots of her with MJF are really awsome. She has a look about her that is stunning. A real deep look in her eyes.

She and Alex had such chemistry together. They were like the perfect couple and I STILL love that song "At This Moment" and it still makes me think of them dancing. ::sigh::

Lauren was a poor replacement, I really did not like seeing her and Alex together. Talk about boring...I always hoped Ellen would come back one day and he'd dump Lauren lol. Ah well..in the end they did end up together and have been happily married ever since ;)

I would choose Lauren, because she is the kind of woman who doesn't take crap from no one, not even Alex. She was the kind of girl that could put Alex in his place. Lauren was good for Alex because every-so-often he needed to control himself and if Steven and Elyse couldn't get him to buckle down, then Lauren sure could. As she said "It was a date and an experiment". You could say that Lauren couldn't be swayed by Alex's Republican craziness and she also saw right through him considering her profession. It was just a great couple, until that ugly ass Marty came on. Whatever he saw in that girl to cheat on Lauren, I would love to know. And so ended another relationship that could have lasted.

Ellen was definitely the best one for Alex. To begin with, Tracy Pollan is a better actress than Courtney Cox, she just seemed so much more natural in the role. Lauren was fine for Alex and they got along and kept each other company and all, but that spark he had with Ellen was totally missing. His relationship with Lauren seemed much more superficial and she came off as being very needy. Ellen was the perfect contrast to Alex, in her he really met his match. I just think that overall, there was much better chemistry between MJF and Tracy Pollan, they seemed to be much more natural together, whereas the interaction between Alex and Lauren seemed more forced.

props: I agree..and i dont hate friends at all, its still the #1 sitcom i saw on TV today. And court is great, no matter what some people say.

When Ellen left I was about as sad as Alex was. It was devestating. I couldn't understand why she was leaving. I guess in the end it worked out for the best - at least for MJF. :D
