Will & Grace star Megan Mullally has abruptly left the Broadway revival of Terrance McNally’s Lips Together, Teeth Apart after two weeks of rehearsal, allegedly because of disagreements with director Joe Mantello, the AP reports.

“We were surprised and disappointed that Megan Mullally had to withdraw from the production immediately in breach of her contract,” Todd Haimes, artistic director of the Roundabout Theatre Company, said Wednesday in a statement.

Mullally’s replacement has not yet been announced for the show, which was set to begin previews April 9. Preview performances have been postponed but the April 29 opening date will remain, as will her castmates Patton Oswalt, Lili Taylor, and David Wilson Barnes.

I am very happy to see that this page is finaly getting some action after a long period in the moth balls!

That's too bad. I personally wouldn't leave a play if Lili Taylor was one of my co-stars! Last time Megan was on Broadway I was able to get a few autographs by writing to her at the theatre.
