Is anyone else have issues with this site loading slow??
Even replies and quick replies are slow, has been like this for a few days now ??

It's going real slow for me right now.

Some speed was sacrificed the last few days for some stability. I'm going back to the settings that have worked well in the past and hopefully it doesn't crash.

I got the following error message a few times within about 10 minutes of surfing this site

Right now this site is running incredibly slow. It took me seven tries just to log on, and I have to wait at least a few minutes for anything to happen.


I think this site needs some more work.

SO has been going offline alot tonight. I'm trying to upload photos in the photo gallery and it's taking me forever.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one experiencing these problems!

There was a HUGE amount of extra traffic today due to the news about Brian Bonsall from Family Ties. From 2-4pm, there were a ton of connections that slowed it down. Yesterday the Family Ties site had 35 hits. Today it had 6146. Hopefully things will stabilize. I think things had improved over the last week before the rush of traffic today.

Yeah, the site was VERY slow yesterday.

That happens with me sometimes but I'd like to suggest that if anyone has a problem posting in a thread or creating a new one that they don't hit the submit button more than once. The post should eventually go through and hitting submit multiple times won't help matters any and will only result in duplicate submissions that will have to be deleted.

The site has been very slow loading and quick reply is not quick, it's very slow.

I thought it was just me, because my computer is very slow anyway. And
yesterday, I even had to re-register (after having been a member for a number of years!). I had forgotten my password and they sent me a new one.

Well this site seems quite fast now so maybe the ADMIN got it fixed ???

It's fast now because the photo galleries were turned off. There's no doubt that they are the culprit. There are just way too many connections from search engine spiders on there the last few days. We might have to make it so you have to register to view photos.

Once again its loading slow. it takes at least five minutes for a comment to post, and then it boots me off.

Yep same here, it's starting to get frustrating. It's been like this every day this past week. I had to close out the SO window in my browser and wait a while and return, it's that slow.

It's been like this all morning.

It's still running a little slow and I got this error message that I've never seen before.

Why a few days later is the board STILL running slow? Frustrating beyond belief

There were numerous problems with the photo galleries. They had to be turned off a number of times. Whenever they were turned on, things would spiral out of control and grind everything to a halt. Things seemed to have improved greatly over the last few days after some of the settings were tweaked.

Maybe the photo galleries should be moved to a separate site so they don't affect the rest of SO.

That's a possibility for the future. We may not be able to have the registration system linked with the message boards, though.

Anyone else having trouble with the site today? It seems to be loading very slowly. I keep getting these messages for some reason. I don't have any problem when I go to other sites.
