MickeyMac 03-21-2010, 02:08 PM An American Icon Dick Clark 70s show watcher 03-21-2010, 08:36 PM i watched half of one ep after he left and then i changed the channel no dick clark no bandstand TV Knowledge Fan 03-22-2010, 01:06 AM ...of Dick's professional career and personal life. By deciding that someone else (I've forgotten his name, but who really cares WHO he was?) could "take over" for him in an off-network version of "AMERICAN BANDSTAND", he virtually guaranteed it would disappear from TV for good. As you've said, '70s', "no dick clark no bandstand". Even he eventually regretted his own decision....now the question is, if Dick were to disappear from his annual "New Year's Rockin' Eve" specials, would Ryan Seacrest really be capable enough to emcee them on his own? I say no. :typing: KurtfromPitts 03-22-2010, 02:47 PM Dick WAS, and will always be, Mr. American Bandstand. |
