Angela Iannelli's doors were padlocked and her parrot stolen — even though the mortgage was paid!

Someone was asleep at the switch, for sure. ohno:
Good thing this particular bank is taking steps to prevent this from happening
again, but I think that this is a case where a lawsuit is very well justified.

Oh, they should be doing more than just apologizing. Maybe paying off the rest of her mortgage or something. That's just stupidity. Does no one double check these things?!

A simple apology seems woefully inadequate in this case. I hope the Bank Of America is prepared to do more for this poor woman!

I'd say a little tit-for-tat is in order here.
Robber: "I'm sorry for breaking in and stealing all your money, Bank of America. But I thought you were my piggy bank." ;)
How far do you think that apology would go?!

I agree. They put this woman through hell - she is entitled to monetary compensation. A little "I'm sorry, this will never happen again" just doesn't cut it - and doesn't bode well for the bank's reputation.
