Viggo Mortensen has reportedly replaced Christoph Waltz in the role of Sigmund Freud in The Talking Cure.
According to Deadline, Waltz left the project due to a scheduling conflict, leading Mortensen to take on the role.
The picture will reunite the Lord of the Rings star with director David Cronenberg, who directed Mortensen in A History of Violence and Eastern Promises.
The film is based on a play by Christopher Hampton and centres on the conflict between Freud and Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender).
Keira Knightly has also been cast as Sabina, an unstable young woman.
