I wonder why Archie wears his rings on his middle fingers? I've never seen a man do this. Usually you wear your ring(s) on your ring finger not the finger you use to give someone half a peace sign. I just noticed this last night while watching "The Stivics Go West" when they were discussing wedding rings during the re-marriage ceremony.

my brother and my oarents wear their wedding rings on their middle fingers too.
I remember reading somewhere YEARS & YEARS ago; an article about weddings and I remember it said that in the middle ages or something, there was a myth that a vien goes straight from the middle finger to your heart.

How funny you should ask about the rings.
Last night while watching All in the Family I too wondered about the middle rings on each finger.
I got up this morning and looked for an All in the Family message board and found this nifty sitcoms-online site!
I've never seen a man where rings on the middle finger before.

One of the rings Archie (well Carroll O'Connor) wears is a Claddagh ring which is an Irish ring that denotes friendship, love, and loyalty. You can see a real good shot of it in the Archie's Brief Encounter episode when he is calling the waitress.
