Because I do not seem to be getting anywhere by any other means, I am going to take yet another stab at starting a thread about site traffic! My last thread was about the dispute between Cablevision and ABC TV. I mentioned this as something that happened in the world that people might be concerning themselves with during the time that they are not starting new threads or responding to old ones on boards like this! I called this thread the "Acadamy Awards" because this is what people would have missed in its entirety if ABC did not make a temporary deal at the last minute. As it was, they still missed the opening ceremony! In any case, I stimulated no conversation and the number of views is stagnating at seventeen. I did what I could to think of some sort of symbolism about the number seventeen. The best that I could come up with was the fact that seventeen years ago, "Cheers" went off the air. The last episode was in the spring of 1993. That fall "Frasier" was born! This is one of the very few cases in which a spin-off lasted as long as the series it was based on! Dose anyone remember the fiasco that was the "Tortelies"? One thing that I happen to remember is that when "Cheers" first came out (in 1982), it was shown right after "Gimme a Break!". Does anyone remember watching in between this show and "Hill Street Blues"?
