View Full Version : I can't believe Cancer Wiped Out Most of The Entire Main Cast
Brian Damage 03-08-2010, 02:45 AM Agnes Moorehead died in 1974 of lung cancer, David White in 1990 of a heart attack, Dick York in 1992 of emphysema, Dick Sargent in 1994 of prostate cancer, and Elizabeth Montgomery died in 1995 of colorectal cancer. Alice Ghostley died in 2007 of colon cancer.
Zoneboy 03-08-2010, 02:50 AM Alice Pearce also died of cancer, Ovarian if I recall correctly.
Marvo301 03-08-2010, 03:01 AM George Tobias died in 1980 of bladder cancer.
comedyfreak 03-08-2010, 03:43 AM Whoa, what a trip.
catlover79 03-08-2010, 10:42 AM So sad. :( Erin Murphy was diagnosed with ovarian cancer a couple of years ago, but thank God it was caught and treated while still in its early stages.
snelson 03-08-2010, 05:25 PM i believe liz and dick york saved erin's life by being with her in spirit form. she's so lucky.
catlover79 03-08-2010, 05:27 PM Kasey Rogers (Louise Tate #2) also suffered from throat cancer, and died from a stroke and complications from her radiation treatments in 2006. :(
The Great One 03-08-2010, 07:03 PM Wow! I didn't know that most of the cast had died of cancer.
McGillicuddy 03-08-2010, 07:59 PM I think Marion Lorne and Maurice Evans are the only ones to make it to their '80's. Oh, and Bernard Fox, is now in his 80's and Alice Ghostly was 83 when she passed.
McGillicuddy 03-08-2010, 08:12 PM This is even more astonishing:
Agnes Moorehead was in the ill fated film The Conqueror (1956), which was filmed in the Nevada desert in 1954, close to where the government was doing nuclear testing. In later years these tests were suspected to have caused the deaths of several of the films stars including Agnes, John Wayne, Dick Powell, Susan Hayward and Pedro Armendariz, who all succummed to cancer.

Oh yes, I've definintely heard that. Supposedly Agnes later said she wished she'd never done that movie. Then again, some of the cast of this movie were heavy smokers (Agnes and John Wayne, for sure) - so who really knows for sure?
snelson 03-08-2010, 09:30 PM sandra gould i believe died of a stroke.
catlover79 03-08-2010, 09:40 PM sandra gould i believe died of a stroke.
Yeah, I think she died of a stroke following heart surgery. :(

Heart disease and Emphysema are not Cancer
Zoneboy 03-08-2010, 11:34 PM Heart disease and Emphysema are not Cancer
I have no doubt that Brian is aware of that.
Marvo301 03-08-2010, 11:41 PM Heart disease and Emphysema are not Cancer
Brian said most of the main cast died of cancer. He then listed six cast members and their causes of death. Four of the six died of cancer. Last time I checked that's what most means.
cablejockey 03-23-2010, 12:09 PM Poor Agnes must have finished up the show only to die soon after.....It is weird to watch the show knowing everybody is dead now. But that happpens with almost any show made back in that era.

True...I think that the last project Agnes did was the voice of the Goose in Charlotte's Web. That, of course, reunited her with Paul Lynde, who played the voice of Templeton the rat.
angiefan 04-07-2010, 08:12 PM I think the man who played Adam stephans is still alive.
