In case this hasn't already been mentioned here (and forgive me if it was), a man who was considered a "person of interest" in the 2001 disappearance of Marilyn 'Niqui' McCown died last month. The man was a former Ohio corrections officer named Tommy Swint. His death was ruled a suicide.
Niqui's family is understandably angry because they believe his death means they may never know what happened to Niqui. Although Swint was never publicly declared a suspect, the police believe he had information related to the case.
At the time of his death, Swint had been indicted for the 1991 murder of a prostitute named Tina Marie Ivery. Needless to say, the murder is unrelated to the Niqui McCown case.
The link below features a new article (dated March 7, 2010) titled "Anger Tempers Hope."

The Investigation Discovery channel is featuring Niqui Mccown on their show "Disappeared" tonight at 10pm eastern.
Here's a thread on a skeptic site discussing Sylvia Browne's reading of this case. I haven't read the whole thing, but it includes a transcript of Browne's comments. It could be interesting to see how her psychic clues from 2002 match up or miss the mark on the details of what's known and/or what will be shown on tonight's program. (Sylvia said that Niqui is dead and her body can be found in a trench near the laundromat from where she was abducted.)

In 2008, Nicqui's mother said that investigators ruled out the laundromat connection, saying that surveillance video captured images of Niqui at a convenience store.
In their ads, the ID channel says that Niqui could have been a bride who got cold feet and ran away from getting married. I never really felt that this was a runaway bride scenario. Can't wait to see what details will be presented on the show.

I saw the Disappeared segment on ID. I didn't know he killed himself. The one thing that stuck out to me was the anonymous tip. I hate to give too much away here and I apologie in advance to those who have yet to see the show but an anonymous tip was called to police that implicated Tommy (the co-worker of Niqui's) in the murder of this prostitute who was murdered 16 years early. DNA was found at the scene as well as a fingerprint on some duct tape used to wrap the sheet around her body. All of that was indeed linked to Tommy. Unfortunately, the SOB killed himelf before he could be arrested thus leaving Niqui's family in limbo in regards to whatever may have happened to Niqui. I really do think Tommy did do something to Niqui but I don't think he actd alone. believe someone helped him...either to dispose of Niqui and/or bring her vehicle to the apartment complex. My gut tells me the other person could avevery well been the anonymous caller.
