Earlier in her movie career Queen Latifah's characters kept getting killed off like in "Set It Off" and "Sphere." She soon realized that if one of her projects becomes a big success she would want to return for the sequel, which means that she must survive the first film.
To stop directors from killing her off, she added a no-death clause in her movie contracts. She said: "It occurred to me, 'Wait a minute, you can't do the sequel if you die in all these movies.' I was like, 'Randy - my agent - no more dying, OK.'"
Since then she has appeared in mostly comedies and musicals, where the chances of dying are slim. But I guess it has worked... She has already starred in two "Ice Age" movies and is set to return for "Hairspray 2."
