Bewitched, bewitched, you've got me in your spell.
Bewitched, bewitched, you know your craft so well.

Before I knew what you were doing I looked in your eyes.
That brand of woo that you've been brew-in' took me by surprise.

You witch, you witch, one thing that's for sure,
That stuff you pitch - just hasn't got a cure.

My heart was under lock and key, but somehow it got unhitched.
I never thought my heart could be had.
But now I'm caught and I'm kind of glad to be Bewitched.
Bewitched-witched.

I read in Herbie J. Pilato's Bewitched Forever that a decision was made not to have the lyrics sung because they decided that watching the animated credits and listening to lyrics at the same time was too much. Why they couldn't have played the lyrics over the closing credits is open to debate - THOSE weren't animated.

I remember that Nick at Nite made up their own lyrics to the theme for promos. (they did this with a few others shows too and they weren't that great...)

I don't remember what Nick at Nite's version was but I know at the end it went something like:

"so watch Bewitched
Here on Nick at Nite!"

On the TV show Hullabaloo they did a segment where everyone sanged the TV themes songs of the time, and Frankie Avalon did "Bewitched". He didnt do a very good job in my opinion.

When I was little, watching the show, I would think to myself "Bewitched, bewitched, be witched-witched-witched-witched-witched..." as the opening music played (LOL). Loved the series.

I believe these lyrics were also sung on an episode of "Hollywood Palace" in the 60's that Elizabeth Hosted.

I like the theme as it is, I don't think it would be as good with Lyrics. Never cared too much of That Girl's lyric theme either.

Actually Elizabeth Montgomery and Vic Damone sang Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered on the Hollywood Palace on Oct.1,1966 not the Bewitched Theme Song.

Larry Tate :)
