DEAR STACY: I've read that Maura Tierney had to drop out of the "Parenthood" series due to breast cancer. How is she doing now? — Teri L., Canton, Ohio

DEAR TERI: Tierney is back to work after treatment for her cancer. She's doing the satirical military play "North Atlantic,'' which already ran in Los Angeles and has a New York run beginning March 10 through April 25. Frances McDormand and Scott Shepherd also star. Tierney's also expected back on Denis Leary's "Rescue Me" in the currently shooting season.

I'm glad (and relieved) to know that Maura has returned to work.

I'm glad she's doing better. She's such a great actress and seems like a nice person too.
