catlover79 03-05-2010, 12:33 PM Shelley was actually one of my favorites on CA. She still looks great! :D
Marvo301 03-05-2010, 07:03 PM She's hardly changed at all!
Fallon97 03-15-2012, 02:20 AM Shelley looks great! I really liked her as Tiffany on CA.
Mr. Television 03-15-2012, 09:34 AM She still looks good. I think she was unfairly blamed for CA's rating decline. The show was going to decline anyway after Kate Jackson left.

Interestingly, someone who had read the Charlie's Casebook stated that Shelley's first episode was actually #1 in the ratings, and that the episodes afterward had done well. In fact, apparently, Aaron Spelling had announced that the show had successfully survived Kate Jackson's departure. Ironically, the first time the show took a nose dive was when Farrah Fawcett's first guest appearance aired in the fourth season. I think the episode was called Fallen Angel. I don't know how true it is since I don't have the book, but someone stated this on another board.
McGillicuddy 03-16-2012, 06:29 AM I liked Shelley too. Yeah, she got a bad rap! She should have been kept on through season 5.

I agree markway. I liked Shelley. She was a great angel. Tiffany was kind of like a more laid back Nancy Drew. In fact, I think I would of liked Season 5 a lot better if Shelley had stayed. I liked her chemistry with Kris, Kelly, and Bosley.
And Tiffany, Kelly, and Kris had a sweet friendship, and of all the trios, they seemed like the trio most likely to have the most in common and actually hang out together -- outside of work.
I can see Tiffany, Kelly, and Kris shopping together, going to the spa together, going to a play or going skiing together.
magdalenadude 09-11-2014, 11:25 PM either another season with Tanya or just leave well enough alone and keep Shelly where she was, and there would have been a season 6.
Mood Ring 09-14-2014, 10:04 AM I stopped watching the show when Kate left. I know a lot of other people who did the same thing. Even today I don't watch episodes with Shelley or Tanya. They look good, but they were sub-par actresses.

S4 premiere was number 1 with 28.0/45
Bonniegirl 12-21-2014, 01:28 AM How popular was Tanya Robert's character in Charlie's Angels? I thought she would be less popular than Shelley Hack. But IDK I never watched it at this point. Shelley just seemed more known than Tanya was I thought?

I agree. Also, by the time Tanya showed up, the show had already run it's course. Tanya was beautiful, but she came on board at a bad time. The writing/scripts had gotten worse and the audience was really over CA by that point. I don't believe the majority of fans cared about Shelley's and Tanya's acting ability.

How do you know they were sub-par actresses if you never watched their episodes??
McGillicuddy 12-21-2014, 07:42 PM I remember before she starred on Charlie's Angels, Shelley appeared on the "Charlie" perfume commercials.
A couple of them can be seen on Youtube.

I have seen some them and other fans tend to agree about Shelley and Tanya. They had little to no acting experience.
Let me restate it... I don't go out of my way to watch their episodes.
Rookielove 06-30-2015, 04:01 PM Tiffany has really grown on me over the years. In fact, she's my second favorite Angel. Sabrina is my favorite, then Tiffany.
king of comedy 03-06-2016, 09:11 AM I never saw the last 2 sesons. Now I will give them a try.
I liked Shelley too. Yeah, she got a bad rap! She should have been kept on through season 5.
Nolan Miller, the costume designer for Charlie's Angels didn't mince words when he said (https://interviews.televisionacademy.com/interviews/nolan-miller?clip=117953#highlight-clips) point blank, that Shelley had a bad attitude and grew to be a diva on set. I'll change a bit of what he said to the TV Academy to make it less harsh, but essentially, this is how he described Shelley:
"Two weeks, she turned into the shrew of the century, she could get so nasty and so shrewish to everybody that we all hated her within a month, and then we wanted to get rid of her you know... Like, somebody get rid of this shrew, so she didn’t last long and we were all happy.“
I liked Shelley too. Yeah, she got a bad rap! She should have been kept on through season 5.
About half-way through Season 4, the powers that be suggested that Shelley work on her acting. Jaclyn Smith invited her to join her and Deirdre Hall's acting workshops which happened weekly at either Jaclyn or Deirdre's houses and consisted of them workshopping scenes together from Congreve, Brecht and Hansberry. After which, they would give one another extensive acting notes. Shelley refused and that was apparently, the death knell for her role on Charlie's Angels.
CJMD03 09-28-2023, 01:20 AM Tiffany never bothered me. She wasn’t as bad as Julie!
Why did Cheryl Ladd succeed as a replacement on Charlie's Angels when Shelley Hack struggled (https://www.quora.com/Why-did-Cheryl-Ladd-succeed-as-a-replacement-on-Charlies-Angels-when-Shelley-Hack-struggled)?

I love the last 2 seasons.

From what I understand, it was not Shelley Hack who caused the ratings dip in Season 4. It was Farrah Fawcett who caused the ratings dip. I read somewhere that when Kate Jackson left, Aaron Spelling had made an announcement that the first few episodes in Season 4 were a success, and they felt that they had survived Kate Jackson's departure. However, when Farrah Fawcett guest starred in Season 4, that was the first time when the show took a dip in ratings. In fact, each time Farrah appeared, the show took a dip in ratings. Did you know that Farrah Fawcett's last appearance was the lowest rated episode in the whole entire Season? It was Farrah's fault, but Shelley was unfairly blamed for the ratings dip. Personally, I love Season 4 and I loved Shelley as Angel Tiffany Wells. She is underrated. :)

I like both Tiffany and Julie.
