Sad, too, because it's the only big hit that he had during the years of the show that he never performed on the show. Plus he performed a fair number of forgettable songs on the show (like his version of "Honeycomb" and "Every Time I Think About You"), but never the song that, next to "Travelin' Man," was his biggest hit. He performed "Poor Little Fool" in the 1985 Universal Amphitheater concert which is on DVD (also saw it on youtube once), but it's not quite the same as having a vintage clip of it. Apparently Ricky could be stubborn though--supposedly the reason he never performed on "American Bandstand" was because he bought a gold suit (like Elvis's) to wear for his planned appearance, but Ozzie forbid him to wear it (even though Rick was about 18 or 19 at the time) and so Rick refused to do the show if he couldn't wear what he wanted.
