Does anyone know if the latest version of UM on Spike TV has solved any previously unsolved cases? If a couple of cases could be solved, perhaps we would see some new episodes of this classic made.

I wonder too. I don't think so. The only cases I've heard of being found that were ever profiled on UM were the Baskins and that Christopher Chichester character, but they had nothing to do with Spike. I can only hope that it will help to solve something but the shows are so old now that so many of the people would look so different.

but those people in the background look so busy and they really stare at the screens hard. So what, a waste of money all for a bit of theatre??

I suspect they just filmed the "telecenter" once and just recycle the same footage, along with the old stories. I mean they don't even have a telephone number, so I can't imagine they really have a telecenter.

Personally, I doubt the Spike version would ever be responsible for solving a thing, given that the average story there is 20-30 years old (does Spike really think it fools people by using "modern" graphics. I mean, the interviews, films, etc. are clearly 80s.

Yeah it looked like such a joke. I mean when Stack hosted we barely required to see the telecentre. He was on the site of the case and we might have got a glimpse of the operator or just a re run of a telecentre video but not the fake one Spike has.

but when they solve a case, the people in the background run around and act like something is really it. its too funny. why not save money and have farina sitting at a desk or in front of a green screen or just in a smoke filled alley??

Does anyone else find it funny when Farina says "Recently ..."? Usually he is referring to cases in which there is some kind of update and he will say, "Recently, we showed such and such case and ...". In Farina's case, the word "recently" refers to 15 years ago.

My digital TV guide is saying that Spike TV is running the 1987 UM episode that was hosted by Raymond Burr at 2:00 am (in less than three hours). I sure hope that that is true but I will believe it when I see it.

Yup!... By the end of the segment you'll find out that not only was the person caught but has now been out of prison for 10 years!

If you pay close attention to the people in the background of the "telecenter" you will notice that monitors are showing clips of the case that is about to air.

I saw the Spike episode with the Weinberg (Medicaid Fraud) case. Farina updated that the father (Sheldon) and one the sons have been released from prison and one son will still be in prison for at least a few more years.

Does anyone know if the new Unsolved Mysteries with Dennis Farina is still producing "new" shows? I have Dish Network and when I watch a program, if I hit info, it will tell me the original air date of that particular episode on any show. It seems like everytime I hit the info button while watching the newer Unsolved Mysteries, it says that they were all filmed in late 2008 or early 2009. However, on Wikipedia, it says the new episodes are still active. Does anyone know for sure?

This morning my DVR which is set to only record "new" shows taped an episode. It also shows on my scheduled recordings that from 9am - 12pm they will be airing "new" episodes. The program does indeed say 2010, and the show description is for cases that I haven't seen Spike showcase...so it appears that they are indeed showing more episodes.

Also, I watched the first 2010 one from Saturday morning and it was a bit different than the usual Spike stuff. It seemed like they showed more of the segement (they only aired five segments, and two of them continued after a commercial break) -- if not the entrie thing -- and they also seemed to really tone down a lot of the A.D.D. graphics...making the show tolerable by not overly modernizing it.

A few months back, I called the office of Cosgrove-Meurer Productions and the lady I spoke with said they weren't in productions at the time.

I wish they would show re-runs right from the 1st season to last if they won't make new eps.
