The cartoon to film adaptation of The Jetsons seems to be placed on permanent hold at Troublemaker Studios due to possible high production costs. Elizabeth Avellan (a producer at the studio) said on the subject:

‘There was one point where ‘The Jetsons’ was in place here … That would have been a much bigger project then we’ve ever done; you’d have to create a whole world from scratch. Right now it’s not in the cards. What we’re good at is keeping the budget low, by cutting out the paper work and keeping the effects in house.’

Maybe they should sell this property to another studio who can actually afford to make this movie and do it right.

Agreed, I may be in the minority, but I really was looking forward to this one.

Creating a "whole world from scratch" is exactly what Universal had to do
when they made "The Flintstones" a few years ago, too.

Maybe James Cameron will be free to do this now, hint hint hint.:D

If the Yogi Bear movie really comes through, surely this other classic Hanna-Barbera property can get made into a movie. I'd love to see The Jetsons done in live action- that'd be pretty fun. (If done right - as The Flintstones movies generally were.)
