Fans of Boy Meets World have been wondering when the fourth season of the show will be released, especially since Lionsgate made a deal to acquire a number of shows from ABC back in August, 2008, including Boy Meets World. Well, the end may be in sight, as fans emailing Lionsgate have been getting the following email:

Hello

The next season is currently scheduled to release fall of 2010.

Thank you

Keep in mind this release hasn't been announced, and may change. This certainly isn't an announcement for the title, and we'll bring you more information if/when that occurs. Also bear in mind that the above is ALL the information we presently have; we have no knowledge if there are plans to re-release the first three seasons (which were released in 2004-05 by ABC/Disney, but are currently discontinued). Thanks to Jerry, just one of our readers who forwarded us the above email.

Cannot Wait! Just to help sales, I'd def. buy the re-releases of seasons 1-3. Frankly, the packaging on my is worn due to how many times I've run through the sets!

That's super cool news. I am not as familiar with Lionsgate releases-I wonder if we would get any special features. I think they need to just pick up where Disney left off-maybe later in a whole series they can re-release them, but fans want the next set, and they're still available online in various places. We had some fun commentaries before so those would be nice-and of course getting other people's involvement, doing documentaries, and so forth all seem like good ideas. But mainly we obviously all just want the episodes so this is good news.

Lionsgate typically isn't very good about bonus features on their TV releases. But who knows... I'm sure much of the cast would be happy to record some more commentaries or whatever.

Whatever they do, I hope they re-issue the first 3 seasons. I sadly lost my DVDs in a move and I really don't want to just have seasons 4-7. Yeah, I could buy used copies of the old DVDs, but they're starting to get pretty expensive now that they've been OOP for so long. Plus you never know what kind of condition a used set is going to be in.

Update: I found the box I lost when I moved with my BMW DVDs! And thank god because I just checked the prices on Amazon and the new sets are going for well over a $100 and even the used ones are rather pricey. Hard to believe they've already become so rare and sought after.
