I remember watching an episode of a TV show many years ago, quite possibly Growing Pains, in which the lead character tells a mentor character (like Mike Seaver telling his teacher) that "I'm better off having known you." It was in response to the teacher saying that he wishes to know that someone is better off for him. I thought it was "Mike the Director" from GP, but watched it and while the ending is similar in tone, doesn't have the quote as I remember it.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? It's stuck in my head all these years and I'd like to share it with a teacher that I'm better off for having known. Thanks!!!
