THE SKINNY: So far we've got FAMILY GUY, AMERICAN DAD, and THE CLEVELAND SHOW - all Seth MacFarlane shows - all airing Sunday nights on Fox. And now Fox is working to add yet another title to their ever-growing slate of MacFarlane shows, this time with Alex Borstein (the voice of FAMILY GUY's Lois Griffin) taking the lead.
In an exclusive interview with iF Magazine, Borstein dropped a few hints about the developing series; the most interesting of which being that it will be the first show in the network's history to feature a female lead.
"[It has] a female lead character, so it's a little different," said Bornstein. "Fox has never done that. I would be playing that character."
When asked if the series will have any similarities to Seth MacFarlane's other shows, Borstein noted there would be a stylistic likeness but that otherwise the show would be of a "different flavor, a different feel."
"It's not a spin off of FAMILY GUY. It's its own thing. Because Seth is the hand behind the animation and the original look of it, it'll probably have some similarities visually. Just in style. The same way you'd recognize a famous painter's work, you'd recognize Seth's."
Borstein was unable to divulge much more about the series, except that like all of Seth MacFarlane's other shows to date, it would revolve around "a family and some pets."
