The funny thing is, Fish was incorrectly listed as dead before Abe!! (That was in the Barney Miller episode, "Discovery", which was from the second season and aired in 1975.) In a case of life imitating art, People magazine mistakenly reported Abe as dead - in 1982!! I have to admire Abe for being such a good sport about it and having fun with it - and I hope we have him for a long time to come!! :D
