Those participating: Florence Henderson, Barry Williams, Eve Plumb, Chris Knight, Susan Olsen and Mike Lookinland.

While it's great to see Eve participate, it's a shame that we only seem to get either her or Maureen - never together. Ann B. Davis in well into her 80s and maybe isn't up to the trip to NY (although maybe they could interview her via satellite), but Robbie Rist once again is given the shaft.

This segment would certainly be much more interesting if Eve and Maureen were both there. It's neat that Eve is taking part this time but I share your regret that neither Ann B. or Robbie are involved. It would be great to hear their memories of "The Bunch"!

Susan Olsen has said how often how she's been torn in the middle of Maureen and Eve's battles - and she doesn't think those two are ever going to patch things up. I hope they can - even though it's a long shot.

Do we have an official reason as to why Maureen isn't doing it? Maybe she is also still dealing with her family issues, which to those who read her autobio, know has been a major deal in her life the past 10 or so years.

It just seems that whenever a Brady thing comes up, it's either Maureen or Eve who shows up. The last thing I remember them being in together was the 2001 Brady Bunch version of The Weakest Link. I don't know what is going on in Mo's family life these days.

I think Eve seemed stand-offish from everyone. But notice when she is asked what she's doing these days, she mentions that she paints, and Maureen complements her on her skill, as if to make amends with her. Thats what I interpreted, anyways.

Actually, it's because The Brady Bunch segment has been scrapped. Susan posted it on her Facebook page a little while ago.

She suspected that it might have to do with problems with some of the women. Do you think that Eve had a problem when Florence dropped out and Maureen was added?

I wonder if this is why 227 got added, just in case the Brady reunion fell apart.

Well - Susan Olsen herself has confirmed it on her Facebook page (this was about an hour ago):

"Fortunately I got the news before leaving to buy snow shoes; the Today Show has been cancelled."

And surprise, surprise - when asked why:

"I would imagine it is due to some women being difficult. Anyway I have to go get my son now and tell him he's not going and that he won't be missing school next week. TO be honest the gig itself was a little lame but taking my boy to NYC was going to be good. Oh well."

LOL Jude. I'd just seen it on Susan's page and then saw your comment. Since I first read about on the SitcomsOnline blog, I came over here to see if there were any updates beyond what Susan was saying.

I'd checked out the message board before but figured it was time I registered. ;-)

I'm sorry that the Brady reunion isn't working out but to be honest, it's the one I was looking forward to the least of all of them. I love the Bradys but we've had no shortage of reunions over the years. I'm kind of excited for the Eight is Enough and 227 reunions. :-)

Good point, but Betty Buckley DID participate in the EIE True Hollywood Story, and mentioned that she was doing a movie with Harrison Ford overseas when the first reunion movie was filming. She said otherwise she would have participated. No explanation why she wasn't there for the second reunion, however.

I don't have time to write one of my usual "Inside very long Essays", so I will have to make this kinda short, First off all I can't believe none of you mentioned Eve's NY appearance on last week's "The Wendy Williams Show", Eve is in New York promoting her art work and gallery exhibit. Wendy brought up her feud with Maureen, Eve wanted the subject changed, then later on Wendy gave her a dig about it....it was harmless and funny......but as many of you know.....there are two sides of The Brady Camp......the main reason this started was many years ago when reunions, tv specials or anything else was offered, The top brady stars are/were offered more money for their participation, those would be Maureen, Barry and Florence. If Maureen refuses, the offer goes next to Eve, quite insulting, but TV is all about money, putting people up in hotels, food allowances, transportation, etc. Now Eve is currently in NY for an extended bit of time, I'm sure agreed to participate to make sure she got her art gallery plug in.......nothing wrong with that...and it saved NBC some $$$...now I don't know why this fell apart, but some of these Brady's better get over themselves and that includes the estate of Robert Reed. I am a first generation fan and have dealt professionally with some of them and find some of them to be really cool.....are you reading Susan?...lol.....some others the ego's are out of control.......Please Bradys EMBRACE YOUR LEGACY, enjoy the historical legendary status you will forever have in pop culture history!

I didn't see Eve on Wendy Williams - I'll look around and see if I can find the clip. But I totally agree with you that Susan is one cool chick - I've had the pleasure of communicating with her via Facebook and the like. She has a wicked sense of humor and is a fine writer (loved her sidebars and other contributions to the Love To Love You Bradys book) - plus how can you go wrong with someone who loves cats as much as she does? :cat: :kitties:

I did catch Eve on Wendy last week. I recorded it to make sure I wouldn't miss it.

Wendy asked her about the feud with Maureen, but Eve kind of downplayed it, and said everything's fine, and she doesn't know where that rumor came from.

Wendy, who is usually outspoken, could have pursued it further, but she didn't. She could have been more specific, and asked questions like, What did you think of Maureen's book? or asked about Maureen's lesbian "joke".

I think Wendy has lost her edge, IMO.

Eve did talk about her paintings.

Then, when Eve's segment was up, and it was time to go to commercial, Eve seemed surprised, and said it's over? I want to stay.
So, Wendy said, Okay, you can stay. We'll talk more about you and Marcia, and Eve made a funny face like  . It was a joke. When they came back from commercial, Eve was gone.

Susan said on her FB page that the one who was REALLY disappointed over this was her son. He was looking forward to being out of school for a few days, going to NYC to see the sights (especially Strawberry Fields!), and getting to play with Barry Williams' son. (Barry's son lives in NYC with his mother.) Since the accomodations were on NBC, Susan said a free trip was something they were both looking forward to. So Maureen and Eve's feud has not only affected the rest of the cast, but the rest of the cast's offspring as well!!

All she had to do was be in the room with Maureen for a little while. No one says they had to talk together when the cameras were off. Maybe Today can reschedule the interview in the future - maybe just stick with the three Brady boys, Susan, Flo and Robbie Rist. At least it would be something!

Actually, I don't understand why they didn't go ahead with just Barry, Maureen, Chris, Susan and Mike. The Partridge Family just had David Cassidy, Danny Bonaduce, Brian Forster and Suzanne Crough. They didn't cancel their segment when Shirley Jones backed out, because of her schedule, and Susan Dey (as usual) passing on it! Could there being more to it than Eve backing out???

This is interesting, plus a cute picture of the kids during the first season in 1969.

http://www.news.com.au/entertainment...-1225835889243

The "Brady Kids" were going to do a sequence on the Today Show which was cancelled because Eve Plumb refuses to be on the same screen or space with Maureen McCormick (Marcia). One reason is that Maureen wrote a trashy book which she claims to have had a lesbian affair with Eve (when Maureen was 15 and Eve was 13). Ewww.

According to Susan Olsen, the two older girls have never liked eached other since the beginning and some of the venom you see between them, and especially from Eve was pretty real. Can't blame Eve, either way. Either the book is a lie, or it wasn't and it exposed a hidden secret that was no one's business in the first place. I used to think that Eve was the bi*ch of the bunch, now I have sympathy for her.

In all, Barry Williams and Christopher Knight are friends, while the youngest, Mike Lookinland is more distant but will do appearances for money. I think if the Brady's were a real family, then Susan would be the sibling who tries to keep everyone together and try to make peace between Maureen and Eve. The fued is something that keeps the other actors from doing joint appearances and making extra income. Except for Christopher Knight, none of the other kid actors are rich, some are quite middle class.

All in all, I don't think it would matter if Eve Plumb doesn't come as long as the interviewer doesn't ask about her or just says that she is "a private person. etc." Most of us boys who grew into men were really into Maureen McCormack, especially now that she has claimed to be a recovering bisexual crack whore. Yummy. She's the star and the interesting one.

http://tv.yahoo.com/blog/who-really-canceled-the-brady-bunch-reunion--1032

By Lindsay Robertson | Wednesday, March 3, 2010, 11:26 AM

Viewers hoping for a nostalgic update from the "Brady Bunch" kids on Wednesday morning's "Today Show" were out of luck. The planned reunion was canceled earlier in the week, reportedly because of a longstanding feud between Eve Plumb (Jan Brady) and Maureen McCormick (Marcia Brady).

When the cancellation was first reported, Plumb took responsibility (through her rep) for backing out, but claimed that it was because she didn't want to go all the way to New York City for a brief TV appearance. But if that seems like a flimsy excuse to cancel the first "Brady" reunion in years, RadarOnline.com has another explanation — that Plumb nixed the plans because she can't stand to be in the same room with Maureen McCormick.

According to RadarOnline's sources, Plumb and McCormick's feud was exacerbated when McCormick, while promoting a book, hinted at a romantic relationship between "Marcia" and "Jan" that Plumb says never existed.

The site offers Christopher Knight's (aka Peter Brady's) explanation about why the reunion failed: "It falls on the aggressiveness of 'Today' producers who are not used to getting a 'No' for an answer + some major miscommunication between some reps," he wrote in an email. "Eve never does Brady press, especially if Maureen is involved. This went on for decades, so she was never on board to begin with is what I understand." Both Plumb and McCormick deny the existence of a feud between them.

"The accusations are ridiculous," says McCormick's publicist. "Maureen has only warm regards and respect for Eve. Maureen was not able to travel to NY this week due to a personal commitment."

So perhaps there is hope for a very Brady reunion in the future.

Not me! I seem to remember reading that Eve was already in New York showing some of her artwork so that would seem to disprove her excuse of not wanting to travel "all the way to New York City for a brief TV appearance". Besides which it would have been on NBC's dime so why should it bother her?

FWIW, Susan told me that she was glad that it got canceled because these reunions to her are now "let's see how old everyone looks", the only advantage to it was a chance to bring her son to NYC. When a fellow fan suggested she take the trip anyway, she responded with a frank I don't have that kind of money to take spur of the moment trips. She may have the Brady fame, but it doesn't come with any Brady fortune anymore. that's kind of what I like about Susan--she's not all "Hollywood" above the everyday person--she relates to us because she is us.

TOTAL BS & NOT BUYING IT! Either Maureen or Eve could have easily appeared via satellite TV if either one of them did not want to be sitting next to eachother live in the NYC studio. The Today show does it all the time. When they had the Happy Days reunion two years ago, both Ron Howard & Henry Winkler appeared on monitors from two different locations! Another thing I will point out is that Eve was already in NYC for two different events, one being her Art Gallery exhibit which from what I heard that hardly anyone showed up & the other event was an AIDS benefit that she did with Florence Henderson at Lincoln Center on Feb. 22. Whatever the case may be, one of them whether it was Eve or Maureen just decided be a B@#*H and ruin the reunion for everyone!

Speaking of Robert Reed he must be turning over in his grave at the way his TV daughters are behaving! (except for Susan of course!) The real shame of Maureen and Eve's feud is that it affects so many other people than just them. It affects their castmates who will miss out on future reunions and the appearance fees that go with them. It affects cast members families. (i.e. Susan's son who missed out on a free trip to NYC). It affects producers who will be less willing in the future to try to put a reunion together. And it affects us, the fans, who miss out on seeing our favorite TV family reunited.

To be fair to Robert Reed and the Schwartzes, it sounds like their beefs with each other were professional and not really personal. It seems like the opposite with Maureen and Eve. Either way, it's a bummer. I think we can all agree it's time for these two grown women to let sleeping dogs lie!

I'm thinking that people need to stop treating the "Bradys" (or any other TV family) as though they were a real family. They weren't.

And people need to quit spending time worrying about whether or not Maureen and Eve ever speak to each other again. People (i.e. fans of the show) are treating Eve and Maureen as though they were estranged real-life sisters...but they aren't. They're actresses who worked together on a sitcom 35-40 years ago (along with a few specials later on). If they don't want to appear with each other any more, so be it. They've gone on with their lives, and everyone else should do the same.

As far as reunion specials themselves, hey, if everyone gets together to reminisce about their days on the show and talk about what they're doing now, fine and dandy. But if they don't, then let it go.

How many times does the surviving cast of the Brady Bunch have to get together on one stage for people to be satisfied?

I have only one wish for the cast of the Brady Bunch. And that is, I hope that every single one of them (including Robbie Rist!) has the best life that they can, and that life turns out to be everything they want it to be, and more. I don't need to see any more reunions.

A reunion show might be an hour long (44 minutes of actual program), and you've got (potentially) 8 people talking about the show. That gives each person about 5 minutes to talk about working on a show that had a 5 year run, plus talking about their real-life families and what they're doing now. That's not a lot of time. Even on a 90 minute or 2 hour special, you can't do that much.

If NBC doesn't think that the public would watch a BB "reunion" without Eve Plumb, that's a business decision by NBC (I don't agree with it, people would watch anything involving the Bradys, especially if it involves 5 of the 6 "kids").

I loved the BB show as much as anyone, but if Eve doesn't want to be dragged out whenever someone ELSE looks at a calendar and decides "hey, it's time for a Brady reunion", she has a right to do that. If they can continue with Brady reunions after Robert Reed's death, they can do it without Eve's participation.

Tweety, there is just one problem you seem to forget Sweety! That Eve had already agreed to do this reunion on the Today show & only pulled out when she learned that Maureen was also going to be there!

It seems the Today show wanted the two girls to be there without the other knowing because the Today producers/NBC thought that everyone would want to see them in the same room since this whole "Lesbian" rumor was started by Maureen!

And I certainly don't know what to make of your post about people worrying whether or not Eve & Maureen speak to each other?
Sitcomsonline was one of the first sites if not the first site to break the news about a Brady Bunch reunion on the Today show!
So when America & the rest of the world is expecting a new Brady reunion & then it is suddenly canceled because of BS drama, then loyal fans have the right to express their opinions on the matter!

I don't get your comment:
"They've gone on with their lives, and everyone else should do the same."???

The only one from the BB cast who has gone on with their life is Ann B Davis & that's because she retired & is too old to travel far anymore!
The rest of the Brady Bunch cast continues to use their Brady Bunch stardom to their advantage with most recently Florence & Eve reuniting on Feb. 22 in NYC for an AIDS benefit! The other five kids reunite & appear together on talk shows & autograph shows all the time! They depend on these type of events to make money & support them & their family!!

Your message was rather odd, considering this is a message boad strictly for loyal Brady Bunch fans!
