This will be my 3rd time going. The first was with my family when I was about 14. Second time was where the wife and I went for our honeymoon.:)

My wife is in Buffalo for a few days for her job. I kept teasing her that she should go to the Thursday Night Terrors (horror films are shown every Thursday at the Amherst Theater in Buffalo). My wife is not into horror like I am so I never thought she would actually go. But she started talking about it to some of her fellow co workers and they all agreed to go together. The movie showing was Nightmare City.
Any ways, my wife won the free raffle! What she won- Nightmare City on Blu, a Nightmare City mug, Evil Dead enamel pin, $25 Dipson Theater gift card, Friday Admission to Nickel City Con.

Anne Rice back in the 90s. Up until couple of years ago we haven't had any horror conventions so there was never really any opportunities, I've never been to a horror convention, but have been thinking about attending the Living Dead Con which started in Portland, OR in 2016.

I know what you mean! I find shoes to be the most difficult item to purchase online. You never know what the fit is going to be like and if the style in person matches the pictures online. I've gotten lucky with it more often than not. But a few months back I did have to return some boots to Macy's. They just looked so cheaply made which I couldn't tell from the pictures online.

Since my wife is going out of town to spend the weekend with her mom for Mother's Day, (no my wife being out of town is not why this is a feel good post;)) my daughter and I are meeting halfway to camp and fish this weekend. Can't wait!:)

I like how the weather is looking during the month of May so far because of the warm/mild high temperatures here in the city of St Louis. I hope it continues the stay like this for the remainder of this month and the entire months of June, July & August(which is my birthday month).

I went to QuikTrip yesterday to buy myself a shake, it was wildberry. I drink it quickly and it tasted great on my first go round.

Total spur of the moment, Mrs Torgo and I this morning decided to go on a road trip, and we ended up in Smith Rock State Park (OR), fishing, well I fished my wife read and napped. Then we had a picnic. Awesome day!

After 14.5 years of the same workplace, I quit my job last month. I've just spent the last three weeks on vacation! I visited my relatives in the Midwest, and then came home and vegged on the couch. My daughter was home yesterday (Saturday) for her first day of Spring Break from college. But since she was heading out of town this morning (her and her boyfriend are on a road trip down to Disneyland) a bunch of the family came by yesterday to see her.
My favorite moment was listening to her and my dad talk about horror films. I love that my dad is 80 and still enjoys watching horror films, and sharing that love with his granddaughter:) She even picked out movies for him to take home and watch.

Earlier Today at Schnucks here in STL after I get my haircut, i discovered that Schnucks Bakery now sells Cereal Donuts & M&Ms Donuts. Very Interesting!

The person who threw it away didn't read the rules fully and missed that another way of winning was matching three like prize amounts. So the ticket had three $2.00 and won that.

Had an amazing time with my family and friends in Mexico. The weather, scenery, food, and everything was wonderful.

I sold about 70 DVDs to Bookoff and got back $61.00 and change. I don't keep every movie that I buy and if I don't watch it in a while and it isn't rare or anything, they go away.

My clothes and DVDs that aren't in perfect condition, like a small tear in the packaging or missing the inside booklet, is going to Goodwill.

I need to look into doing something like this. I had a major obsession in my late teens and throughout my 20s with buying DVDs and Blu Rays. While I will occasionally still buy them if it's a favorite or something super rare, I've mostly gotten over the obnoxious habit. I have WAY too many and most I'll never watch again so they're really just clutter.

I left my house for the first time in 5 weeks. I wanted to drive my car around for about half an hour to prevent any problems in the future. I was amazed at how cheap the gas was in my area. One Arco service station was as low as $3.00 per gallon I have not seen gas that inexpensive in a long time.

This thread really needs to be more active and I include myself in the guilty party for not posting here nearly enough. That being said, I decided today that I am sick of having such a terrible sleeping schedule and not doing anything productive at all. Long story with that one, but I feel like I've fallen into a ditch and need to pull myself out, if that makes sense.
So I decided that starting tomorrow I'm going to try a schedule. I'm not working at the moment but I'm going to get up no later than 8am, and go for a walk on the trail by the golf course across the street from my building. I've gone on that trail twice and I always feel good after doing it. THe first time I walked four miles. Couldn't hardly walk afterwards b/c my legs hurt so much, but it was something anyway. I think that if I did that every day (maybe not the four miles but at least three. It's two miles there and back), I could work up to it being easier. I miss my water aerobics and it's times like these that make me feel guilty for not going every day like I should have been before. But fortunately I have a pass that is non-expiring, so I don't have to worry about that. I have been in my condo since January 31st and my bedroom is still so bad (ie: full of boxes and crap) that I don't have room for a bed. I've been sleeping on the couch all this time and it's really starting to get to me. So I'm going to really work on getting at least most of it cleaned out. I don't know if I can get a bed delivered right now but at least it will be ready when the time comes. I'd rather do it sooner than later. I definitely have the money but it's so overwhelming to go in there and try to sort through everything.

But I'm going to try really hard to get something worthwhile accomplished every day. I hate sitting around watching TV and eating all the time in a disastrous condo. My husband would be ashamed of me if he saw what I've stooped to. I just feel like I'll feel better about myself and not be crying so much if I accomplish something. The day that I finally cleaned my bathroom and got it to where it was actually neat was something I was so proud of.



Today I saw my next door neighbor in our parking garage when I was leaving to go get my dinner and I swear I wanted to hug her so badly. It's been so long since I've seen another person.

Over the weekend, my wife, daughter and I went camping. In our backyard. We set up camp in a back part of our property which is situated to where you can't see any signs of civilization which helped give the illusion of being out in the middle of the woods. We cooked out, had a campfire, roasted marshmallows, played board games (thank you portable fire pits), no electronics, phones, etc. Okay, we did still use the bathrooms in the house.

It was fun, a nice diversion, and helped kill the monotony of quarantining.

Made some chocolate chip cookies for a snack yesterday.

Yesterday of course was Easter and if things were different, my husband and I would have gone to the local casino for their huge Easter brunch buffet. In fact, I had asked my brother (who just moved up here on Saturday) if he wanted to go with me so we could spend the holiday together. But since things are the way they are, I just stayed at home. But the good news is that my best friend whom I reconnected with online after my husband passed away (we were thisclose in junior high until she moved away, and we lost touch for years until I found her though Google and Facebook) had PM'd me on Facebook and we had a very, very long phone call. I think total it was about five hours. It was so nice to just laugh and talk about stuff and she gave me some good ideas on how to go out and walk. I've been pushing myself too hard and she didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know but sometimes you have to hear it to put it in motion you know?

So I guess this isn't really the right place to post this since I'm not complaining today, except for the fact that I'm bored and I shouldn't be because I know I can find plenty to do around here.

It's a museum all about Rosé featuring various wine samples along the way with a wine bar at the end. I don't think patrons can go to the bar by itself, you have to pay and walk through the attraction to get to it.

It was great going outside for a bit today and seeing some things back to normal. I'm seeing a lot more restaurants opening up. Even though it's still delivery/take-out only, it's great to see them back.

The ice cream trucks were also out. The only thing sad was seeing all of these kids playing outside with masks on.

I got some restaurant gift cards for my birthday today (Chili’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Panera Bread).

Yesterday, My Laptop Screen is 100% for the 1st time in 10-11 months

I have a friend who works in the kitchen at an NYC Public School where free meals are distributed. He gave me a bunch of leftover food that didn't go bad, but they had to get rid off since new meals were coming in for the week.

I really don't need them, so I am going to give some away to neighbors on my street.

I went out for Italian food yesterday.

Had some luck with the lottery yesterday. Bought a $20 scratch off and it won $40. I then bought a $30 Amazon gift card for my sister’s upcoming birthday and bought a $10 scratch off from another store. That ticket won $40, so I spent $20 and came back with $40 + a $30 Amazon card.

My Maine vacation starts on Saturday.

My phone fell out of my pocket in between the creases of my sofa (where it’s divided) so I had to pull it apart to get it. Found $1.25 in quarters under there.

We took a few days off last week to go camping at Kentucky Lake. The weather was nice except for one evening when there was a little rain. My husband caught several bass and a couple of crappie but no catfish this time. It was nice to go somewhere for a few days.

I went to Burger King for the first time in a couple of months yesterday.

There’s an older couple on my block who receive food from the NYC COVID relief program. They gave me some of the stuff saying that it’s too much food for them and they don’t eat everything included. I kept the peanut butter jars, Chef Boyardee ravioli cans, rice and pasta. I’m bringing the rest to one of our local food banks.

Going out for Chinese food for lunch later on today.
