And with all these classics that Depp and Burton have been revisiting (Wonka, Alice, etc.), the director revealed that Depp's most awful idea is the '70s Saturday morning TV show he keeps wanting them to remake.

"We did discuss doing 'H.R. Pufnstuf,' " Burton teased. "With him playing Freddy the Magic Flute."

I love Tim Burton, but he has become the Remake King in the last decade.

With the exception of Big Fish, which I liked, everything he's done is a re-tread of something that's already been done.

Tim needs to come up with an original idea or do something that no one's thought of yet.

Well, as a child of the 70's, I LOVED the original, but yeah, please keep Mr. Burton away from this. Some of these works hold very special places in a lot of our minds and I don't know why we always have to have them diluted or distorted by some passing whim to remake them. They are creatures of a certain time, and should remain so. Let SOME things remain pristine in our memories and seek profits elsewhere, hopefully with new mythologies for a new age.

I stand corrected. Didn't see that one, which is probably why I forgot it.
