View Full Version : I think the NewsBlog should be apart of the message boards on Sitcomsonline .
TVFactFan 02-20-2010, 12:44 PM Because not a lot of tv fans are reading the blog because it's seperate from the message boards.
So I think the TV and cable news being posted on the message boards for that particular show will allow every to be informed about upcoming prpgramming. Lots of members are missing out on programming because that programming wasn't posted on the individual board.
For exanple, this week some fans of Good Times and the Jeffersons missed out on the Interviews with cast members on TV One because it was on the blog and not the message board. Just like today a lot of members may not know there is a 9 hour marathon of the Jeffersons and I only found out because I checked my cable guide not the blog.
So is there a way tv news can be posted on the message board it if has something to do with that show? Not only will that keep us tv fans informed about upcoming related programming but it will generate activity on the message boards.
Maybe a Blog on the Boards that way more people would read it because it's connected to the TV forums?
Solomon.. you need to make reading the blog a daily habit man, lol. This isn't the first time you've missed news like that and won't be the last unless you start viewing it on a more regular basis. A lot of people do read it on a daily. What does it take? A minute or two to check it daily? It's usually published at a regular time every day, usually between 12-1pm on weekdays for almost the last 5 years. Pavan does a heck of a job of providing news and schedules. A lot of schedules get changed on almost a weekly basis. It's hard to keep up with at times, but nobody does it better than Pavan. The blog is there for people who want to read it and keep updated.
The blog is promoted extensively. On the boards, on Twitter, on Facebook, RSS feeds, a daily e-mail digest, etc. Do you ever see the stories on your Facebook feed or on the ticker feed at the top of every page on the boards? I would think that it would be hard to miss. It's much easier to publish and have people find it on the blog. It stays organized. It gets indexed in the Google search almost instantly. It wouldn't get indexed as quickly on the boards. Many, but not all, of the blog stories are linked on the boards as well. We probably could do more of that, but publishing the blog only on the boards isn't a viable option. People are welcome to post links to the blog stories on the individual show boards and discuss them. I know everybody wants their news served on a silver platter these days, but sometimes you need to make the effort and click on the link, lol.

I saw the specials but there were some Good Times Fans who missed the Jimmie Walker Interview on Tuesday Night. I always felt a entertainment news message board would be a wonderful thing.
Pavan 02-20-2010, 06:24 PM I try to post the blog links on the boards, but sometimes I don't have the time for it. I posted on the What's Happening!! board about the TV One special and episodes airing, but no one replied I think (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=260448).
How about you post the blog links on the respective boards from now on? For example, if there is a marathon of The Jeffersons on TV One and we blogged about it, you can post the blog link on The Jeffersons board. You know how to copy/paste the link right?
(By the way, we blogged about today's Jeffersons marathon when we released the Way Black When month details, so not sure how you missed it.)

Pavan 02-27-2010, 06:28 PM That is a good one. I cannot wait for that. What about Robert Guillaume on Florence Henderson Show Tues at 2pm on Retirement Living TV? Florence discusses the past in detail with her guests.

Pavan 02-27-2010, 06:39 PM You should check your Comcast guide. Because I just got it and online TV listings don't list it on my service yet.

Tood Bridges doesn't excite me that much but I may still record it. You know you I would prefer Gary Coleman or Conrad Bain
