Sean Penn Charged in Scuffle with Photographer

Sean Penn was charged with two misdemeanors Friday following an altercation with a paparazzo last fall, the L.A. City Attorney's office confirms.
Penn, 49, faces one count each of battery and vandalism for an Oct. 12 incident on a residential street in Brentwood, Calif. Video of the scuffle shows a visibly upset Penn walking quickly toward a photographer, telling him to "Get out! Get the [expletive] out!"
He then repeatedly attempts to kick the man. Several other paparazzi were also on the street.
"We're alleging that in the scuffle a photographer's camera was damaged and he was battered," City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan said.
If convicted, the two-time Oscar-winning actor faces up to 18 months in jail. An arraignment is set for March 22.
Penn's rep was not immediately available for comment.
