I recently caught a couple of episodes of How I Met Your Mother, and just fell in love with the show. It's in its 6th season now, but fortunately for me, the other five episodes are available via Netflix. We're halfway through season three now.

We've done this with Lost, Desperate Housewives, Dexter and a few others that I can't remember now. It's a blast. We often watch until 4am, sleep until noon, sleep, shower, do whatever needs to be done, then back to our marathon. We're like zombies, lol. Depending on how many seasons, it usually takes a few weeks. I just got two discs in the mail, and I can't wait. Has anyone ever done this?

I cant say that I have. I dont think I could spend that much time in front of the television set.

I did that with Frasier. :) The show was great. I saw a few episodes. I really liked the show and from that point was hooked. :) :lol: I flew through 11 seasons of the show on dvd. I liked it so much that I bought all 11 seasons on dvd and own them. :) While Family Ties will always be my all-time favorite show, Frasier is definitely toward the top of the list. :)

Also I did that with The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Bob Newhart Show (1970's one). I'm currently waiting for Netflix to have available copies of the sixth season of TMTMS.

I think it's fun to watch episodes of shows back to back within a short time span. :)

I've been on a Married with Children kick lately, I just can't seem to watch it enough ;)

I got through seasons 1-4 of Melrose Place quite quickly. Then they took forever releasing season 5, and they did it in 2 volumes, so that took even longer. It will probably be months before season 6 is available.

I did that with Seinfeld a while back. I watched for days and I think I got through all nine seasons. I even stayed up all night before having to get on a plane at 6 the next morning watching Seinfeld. Then after a week away, I came back and resumed where I had left off! I'm thinking of doing that again!

I did something similar with Little House on the Prairie, but I burned myself out on it. It's a shame too, since I love that show, but that was way too much of a good thing. I haven't watched it since. I think now it's been a long enough time (At least a year if not more) that I have been away from it that I could probably enjoy it again.

I did that last month with Sex & the City. I have all the DVDs and watched the entire series, all 6 seasons and 94 episodes in 3 weeks.

I did that with Dexter on seasons 1 and 2. Also with Father Knows Best seasons 1 and 2.

Currently doing that with 7th Heaven. Right now, I have seasons 1-6 and 9 on DVD... after tomorrow, I'll buy seasons 7 and 8 online. Season 10 is set to be released towards the end of March, so I figure I should be all caught up by then. No word on when they're releasing season 11... But goddamn that show is addictive. Watched it often in its original run, having a blast re-watching the episodes on DVD. :) Just started season 5 yesterday and ohhhhh, it's getting GOOD.

I occasionally have Cheers marathons, since I own all 11 seasons on DVD now. But I did that even before all 11 seasons were out... I haven't had a full Cheers marathon yet. I do this also with Full House (have all 8 seasons). I can breeze through Full House *really* fast. :lol: It's one show I remember watching when it debuted in 1987, so I still enjoy it after all these years.

I have had a few marathons of different shows. Last summer I had watched all of the seasons in Futurama in about two weeks. I watch all the seasons of Six Feet Under in about two months.

There have been a few shows I watched on DVD from beginning to end (only stopping ocassionally to have a life or work), in a matter of weeks to months (or days if it's a short show).

Land of the Lost (I don't remember why)

Street Fighter: The Animated Series (I just got bored with it)

Three's Company (I don't remember, but I made it to season four before stopping.)

Titus (Wasn't in the mood to finish)

Wings (Around season six, the news that Taxi was going to be complete on DVD, got me out of the Wings mood and into the Taxi mood. I just never went back to finish off Wings.)

And then there are current shows, or shows that as I buy a season, I watch it all at once....

Curb Your Enthusiasm (I always have a marathon, watching all 10 episodes the day I get it.)

How I Met Your Mother (I always watch the new season in a matter of days)

Scrubs (I watched seasons 1-6 all together. Then I got season 7, watched it and finally season 8, and watched it)

Yup, I usually do that with TV DVDs, sometimes Ill watch one full disc and say I watched a movie when it was really just tV eps.

im glad you like how i met your mother janice always before i had watched it off and on but last spring i really began to get into it more and more and now i witch it every monday night and on dvd too quite often

I did that with How I Met Your Mother as well! I got into it soon after I saw the third season finale, which was the episode that got me interested. In a matter of days, I bought all of season 1 on iTunes and spent an entire day watching it. Soon after, I bought seasons 1 and 2 on DVD, and bought season three the day it was available. Same goes for season four, although I watched it in its entirety on CBS.

Frankly, season 5 has been pretty rough with only a few episodes I'd call classics: Sexless Inkeeper, Dual Citizenship, Playbook, Robin 101, The Window, and Best Week Ever.

Oh yes I have. They are all I seem to watch these days!! I'm currently watching The 1980's TV series of Beauty and The Beast and The Big Bang Theroy.

Anyway, in answer to your question Janice, no I haven't butI've watched three or four episodes of a show in a row, then the next night watched the next three or four episodes of it, and then maybe again one or two nights later. I've done that with "THE PATTY DUKE SHOW", "BARNEY MILLER", "DALLAS", "McHALES NAVY", "THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES", "QUANTUM LEAP", "STAR TREK: VOYAGER", and the early episodes of "MASH" (which are the best ones)

I'm checking out the show Reba. I just watched disc 1 of the first season. It had eight episodes on it.

We just finished the third season of HIMYM, and we'll watch the fourth next week. I was under the impression that the fifth season was out on dvd, but I was wrong. No release date either, ugh. I was so psyched, but I guess I have to just wait and see now.

I can do mutiple seasons of a tv show in one weekend by not during the weekend unless i'm off.

If someone gave me seasons 7 and 8 of the jeffersons I would be watching them the entire weekend

Well it does seem to be a rarther snowy winter here in the NE at least in NYC area. And the Reba's were easy to plow thru - the eps avg 21 min. each. And that Reba is so Puurrrty! and talented. I think I like her much more as a TV personality & actress than as a singer - although I do enjoy her as a singer. She has a good sense of comedy (& timing.)

I tend to plow through "1/2 hr" series like Reba, The Patty Duke Show. Right now I'm going thru Petticoat Junc.

She is a real looker isn't she! And a drop dead great personality to boot. I've never been a big country western fan in terms of the music but I did catch a few eps of Reba on TV and really liked what I saw. She's a fine singer for sure but a FANTASTIC actress and comedienne. When the show went on sale at Target for $10 a season I bought the 1st 4. Then last black Fri S#5 went on sale at J&R for $9. I can never get too much of Reba.

And the show is a lovely power of example with Van & Cheyenne. A teen couple where the girl gets pregnant AND they actually get married. Yes some people do that instead of automatically opting for an abortion. And they bring their baby daughter up with a lot of love...with some help from supermom Reba. Sorry if I'm a little O/T but its a fun show with a NICE plot.

I only have a few episodes left of Season 3. Seasons 4-6 on are dvd to rent. That will be good as I prefer to watch episodes on tv verses the computer.

Reba is great isn't it! I raced thru S#1-5. The eps are short - only 20-21 min on avg.
