Hey, I was just wondering. I've watched this episode many times on DVD and was wondering about somthing. You know the scene where if fades into the kitchen and you see Lucy reading an "abnormal Phsycology" book at the kitchen table.

Well as the camara pans back to reviel Lucy at the table reading the book a subtitle thing appears at the bottom of the screen. It says "Abnormal Phsycology" or something like that. Is this normal or is this a glitch in the pressing of the episode?

I watched this episode during the marathon on the Hallmark channel and did't see that subtitle thing when it got to the kitchen scene. So, I got to wondering is this normal or is it a glitch from pressing the episode to the DVD? Does everyone have that on their DVD? Please let me know. Thanks.

Hi Tim-

I checked it out using two different viewer programs and I didn't see it. There is an abrupt cut between scenes and the scene you're referring to starts with a closeup of Lucy reading the book with the book title visible. Maybe what you saw was an early cue, but later they took it out. Where/when did you actually see it? I'm curious!

I don't doubt you, though. Sometimes I've seen a split-second shot of words; there was one that had a Spanish translation, but I can't get a screen capture, even in slow motion.

It's right when it fades into the kitchen scene ans she's sitting there reading. It's right after Lucy says in the scene before I can see it all now. Ricky Ricardo and his heavenly review staring Lucy and her magic harp. You here the harp music play as it fades out and then it fades into the kitchen scene with Lucy sitting at the table reading. A subtitle pops up at the bottom of the screen for a couple seconds and disappears after the camara pans back.

It's some spanish writting saying "PSICOLOGIA ANORMAL"

I'd take a screen cap but, I don't know how to post screencaps on here. Theres no other subtitles popping up in the episode just that one. I was just wondering what it was because it's not there in syndication.

Looks to me that it is something to do with sub-titling. Maybe for when the show is dubbed over in Spanish. Because the book's title is written, they just put that one sub-title in so that Latin viewers could understand what book she was supposed to be reading, hence, only needing the one sub-title.

I just played the episode from my DVD. I thought the subtitle was only going to be on the screen for like one second. It turns out that I was wrong.

I'm wondering if the original release of the DVDs had the subtitles intact, and then later when they released the first complete set, maybe they edited them out. I purchased all of the seasons together but it wasn't really a "box set." Frank, did you buy season one by itself?

No, I bought the box set.
