Add Henry Winkler to the list. I saw him recently on a season one episode of Rhoda. The previous year, he had appeared on The Mary Tyler Moore Show as Rhoda's co-worker, who she brings along with her to one of Mary's bad parties.

Don't forget Richard Schaal was on MTM as twins,Howard and Paul Arnell,he was also Chuckles The Clown in heavy make up in season1,he also played a different character in the MTM episode about the singles bar.
Florida Friebus played a nurse on MTM,then in Rhoda,she played Harriet in "The Shower" and played Mr Morgenstern's secretary,in "Rhoda" season2.
Eileen Heckart played Aunt Flo on MTM and also played the same character on Lou Grant,they only other MTM character,other than Lou to be in "Lou Grant".
Wes Stern was Lou's nephew Alan in MTM season1,then in "Rhoda",he had the semi regular role of Lenny Fiedler.

I'm new here and joined this forum to ask a specific question, but I have to weigh in here. I kinda like seeing bit players show up here and there. They are usually talented actors who only get nanoseconds on screen in any one episode, and I think it's great the show hired them again to fill more gaps or give them bigger roles. Besides, it's fun wracking my brain to think where I'd seen them before.

Can anyone direct me to the right topic to ask about credit scenes? There's one shot that appears again and again in the final credits in at least one season. The bus doors open, Mary kneels and bows, then thrusts her mobile microphone at the doors as if waiting for a dignitary to appear. WHAT is that about?? The only episode I can think of is in Season 6 (which I just got) when Prince Charles was going to visit, but of course he didn't, and Mary never got close to him. And besides, what would he be doing on a bus? Who can I ask?

I thought that was screwed up, because in the "MTM world" Lou Grant knew her as Brenda, since he was at Rhoda's wedding!

Ben Stiller's Dad Jerry Stiller,appeared in the season 3 "Rhoda" episode "A Touch Of Classy" as Lloyd,alongside his wife Anna Meara(who was season3 "Rhoda" regular Sally)and Jerry played Bert in the "Phyllis" episode "The Jumper".

John McMartin played a visiting lawyer friend of Phyllis's from Minneapolis named Jermoe in the "Phyllis" episodes 'Up For Grabs' and 'A Man, a Woman, and Another Woman' and a lawyer named Barry in "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" episode 'Mary Gets a Lawyer.'

Yeah, I can think of 2 on Mary Tyler Moore:

Penny Marshall and Arlene Golonka played friends I think in the episode where Lou buys a bar, then in different episodes, Arlene plays Chuckles' daughter and Penny plays Mary's neighbor in the high-rise apartment.

Alice star Beth Howland played Linda Foster in season 3 of MTM "Have I Got A Guy For You" and in season 6 of MTM played the smaller role of Joan in "Mary Richards Falls In Love".

David Ogden Stiers played in two episodes of "Rhoda." He was Dr. Curt Dreiser in 'Nose Job' and George in 'If You Want to Shoot the Rapids, You Have to Get Wet.' He played Mel Price in three episodes in the final season of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and he played Mr. Raymond in the "Phyllis" episode "The Wrong Box." All were before he played Charles Winchester in "M*A*S*H."
