Yeah totally, and I hope he has a good lawyer for the divorce.
hippiechick60 02-22-2010, 07:06 PM yeah then maybe he can go and find someone his age!
Marvo301 02-22-2010, 07:12 PM Run Davey, Run! :seeya:
Retro4Life 02-22-2010, 10:38 PM yeah then maybe he can go and find someone his age!
Age is not relevant here. It would be just as bad if his wife were the same age as he was and was abusing him.
I agree with everyone else. Here's hoping he finds true love in a situation that's safe!
TeeVeeCloset 02-23-2010, 09:36 AM PERSONAL OPINION ESSAY COMMENT:
I am an original lifelong monkees fan and have spent alot of professional business time with all three of them together and separately.......I am not going to tell personal stories out of school due to professionalism and I am simply not that type of person...BUT......I am sure there is some truth to this enquirer story, But David can be very difficult, it has been wildly known in fan circles for years, but I can also tell you first hand that David Jones has a severe drinking problem, I will leave it there. Perhaps his fiery new wife is just trying to control his quite frequent out of control behaviors.....but she would truly serve him best by getting him into rehab. I am not trying to burst anyone's fan bubble or put down his legacy at all....but his problem has caused much friction between his many friendships including his fellow-monkees, he sincerely needs help.
Too bad The Monkees as a foursome and threesome have always let their personal differences divide them...their legendary status is a permanate fixture, but they were very self-destructive, right from the start.....firing Kirschner the way they did, destroying the show after 2 seasons and putting their efforts into the movie head instead, making a horrible 60's NBC special, cutting ties with MTV in the 80's by pulling out of a performance, only having a brief england foursome albert hall reunion tour, never releasing the perfectly filmed version, never taking the tour to america, putting out "That was then, this is now" under "The Monkees" without all three participating under disputes, the Nesmith totally controlled "Justus" album and ABC 90's TV Special, destroying their relationship with Rhino Records, the list goes on and on....again they were always very self-destructive and continue to be........
sooner or later one of them will pass and many years have gone by that can never be re-lived.....they really need to realize how important to pop culture they were and are, put differences aside and at least get it together enough personally, not neccesarilly to tour, but at least put out and participate in still unreleased projects, do a definative documentary with all 4 participating on the same screen, ala "The Beatles Anthology" and yes they should be in the rock & roll hall of fame, even though I personally think that thing is a scam with no real justifications on who and when you are inducted. I'm afraid they will always live with the moniker as not being real musicians, which is far from the truth. But please Monkees, take advice from your heroes, The Beatles and "Let It Be" before it's too late.
Pitooey 02-23-2010, 02:21 PM Wow........... Now I can see why the Monkees haven't gotten together. I would love to see all 4 of them together but MAN....... their egos get in the way. I just hope they can get together one day. I'm always praying for Peter that he gets better too. They should do it before a member passes away. :(
MickeyMac 02-23-2010, 06:28 PM It would be nice if the Monkees would put aside their egos and personal differences and get together again. I really dont think they realize how many fans they have out there.

oh i disagree this does have something to do with it! and like a have argued before shes a gold digging tramp and davy is just her sugar daddy and shes abusing him cause she propley thinks that he can't do anything about it! and i still hope he does find someone hes own age and is not a gold digging tramp!
(don't beat your dad honey i mean husband!)
Goldilocks 02-26-2010, 02:59 PM TeeVee Closet: That was beautifully said! :tiphat: Thank you for sharing that with us. I agree with you wholeheartedly that there are too many years that can't be re-lived. Being a life-long Monkees fan, it's hard not to be concerned for them on some level.

I really appreciate your response, whether you were to agree with me or not, obviously we are in agreement.....but I thank you for taking the time to read my very sincere and honest post.....I sometimes write very well thought out, sometimes too long "essays" with not much response. I really put my heart into my writings and choose the topics with care. Just to get one comment like yours is very encouraging and sweet. I do sincerely hope David does get help but nothing will ever change their legacy, but they also deserve much more respect from the music world, but also again I'm afraid they were sometimes and continue to be their own worst enemies. My very best to you my friend......
BTW...love your avatar as I'm sure you appreciate mine, it is the real street sign here in NJ, just minutes from my home.
hippiechick60 03-01-2010, 06:46 PM yeah even when i saw davy in consert it was just as good as seening all four of them! but yes it would have been really great too see them all! i would pay anything...well i'd try to anyway!

Wow! Awesome tidbit of information!!! Thanks for taking the time to share some interesting details with all of us who are fans of the Monkees. Your effort is greatly appreciated!
comedyfreak 03-01-2010, 11:25 PM I wouldn't put much truth to the National Enquirer. Seems that someone always want their 15 minutes of fame.
James28 03-02-2010, 12:41 AM Oh great, you see? This is what happens when the wife of a primary star on a 60s TV show is born several years after the show's cancellation! This abuse wouldn't have happened if the wife had lived to see the Monkees during its original run on NBC. Did Pachenco force Jones to marry her? I swear, Pachenco has to be one of the most hated persons in the community. The other Monkees are probably despising her by now and if they find out about this, they'll kick Pachenco in the gut as punishment. This has to be one of the most controversial marriages in history.

Hey everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I don't want to get into any war with ANYONE.....but some others may be interested in reading my post in this thread, which has also been reprinted by some posters.....and I have gotten many positive responses publically and privately.
first re: the national enquirer, not directed at your post....they know more then you think.....I will just name one right now....they broke the john edwards story....enough said.
as i wrote in my "essay comment", I don't want to burst anyone's monkees bubble, again I am original fan and have dealt with all of them professionally......but the other monkees have no interest in who he married.......David has a serious issue and there are two sides to every story, I am not defending violence in anyway on either gender, but she may be trying to help him with tough love as they say. As for this being one of the most controversial marriages in HISTORY? Huh?
OJ Simpson & Nicole
Michael Jackson & Presley
Nick Cage & Presley
Valerie Bertinelli & Eddie Van Halen
Bill & Hillary (yes the president of the US was impeached and she stood by her man)
Tiger Woods & his wife
Sonny & Cher
Cher & Gregg Allman
Liz and Dick and so many more including eddie fisher
Debbie Reynolds and eddie fisher
Bobby Darin & Sandra Dee
Britney & Kevin
Bobby & Whitney
Alec & Kim
Charlie Sheen & Denise Richards
Madonna & Sean Penn
Gary Coleman & his current wife
John Lennon & Yoko Ono (at the time not accepted)
Paul McCartney & Heather Mills
Eric Clapton & Pattie Boyd (his best friends George Harrisons' former wife & single inspiration for the most classic rock songs than anyother female......Something, Wonderful Tonight & Layla!
and finally drum roll please for the most controversial marriage of all time is.........IT'S A TIE!
Jerry Lee Lewis marrying his 13 year old cousin Myra! AND another drumroll please........
Elton John marrying a woman! yes in the 80's
OMG...I could go on with at least 50 more than Mr and Mrs. Jones, they don't even get any real media exposure.
Now that was all just fun to put it in perspective, but if you care please read my heartfilled post regarding David and the serious help he really needs to seek treatment for, I say that with the sincerest respect to you and him.

Your very welcome, TeeVee Closet! Your use of the word "Legacy" is so correct and poignant. The Monkees are that indeed and you are so right in that nothing will ever change that (or take it away, for that matter.)
My fondest and earliest memory of music AND television is The Monkees:

I was going to say the same thing.
