View Full Version : Bye-It's been fun
Mastermind 02-12-2010, 11:03 PM This is my last post. Starting spend a little more time on web sleuths and zodiackiller.com. You can catch me there. Also the massive typing and furious thinking is actually taking a bit of a toll on me with my condition.
For all the heated discussions...it's been fun and I hope I've brought some thought and fun to the rest of the posters. Thanks for providing a lot of
Long live Unsolved Mysteries and Robert Stack!!!! Hopefullly all these cases will be solved. :)
justins5256 02-12-2010, 11:53 PM Sorry to see you go, dude. I enjoyed your posts; Definitely among some of the more thought provoking posts I have read here and on other forums. Your contributions will be missed.
Take care,
Justin
bell83 02-13-2010, 12:23 AM Sorry to see you go. You almost reached 1,300 posts! :)

What is your condition??
everybodylovesrs 02-13-2010, 03:08 AM that's funny Justin. I could have sworn you were against retirement posts. Or is this just another one of your flip-flops, like how you said anyone with rare segments should make them available to everyone else so that everyone could see them. And then when you received some, you hoard them, but make sure to let everyone know that you have them.
I'd have to agree with you wiseguy.
kadrmas15 02-13-2010, 03:23 AM Hmm wiseguy, I do not think you are in any position to talk about it. You and I both have flip flopped on our own retirement positions. I think Mastermind on the other hand is serious, he has been a good poster and I enjoyed his posts and wish him the best.
MegtheEgg86 02-13-2010, 03:43 AM Awww man, Mastermind, I loved your posts. Always original thoughts, and definitely many things I often failed to notice. I always liked the way you could take a case and turn it inside out and back in again; you were always thorough in your assessments. I will hate to see you go for sure.
wiseguy182 02-13-2010, 04:29 AM I'd have to agree with you wiseguy.
thanks!
crystaldawn 02-13-2010, 10:46 AM Lets not turn this into arguing! Take care Mastermind and if you find any spare time, we'd love to have you back.

LOL!
Bye Mastermind! I'll miss your input on stuff, even if you were long-winded a lot! ;)
Reverend Jim 02-13-2010, 01:48 PM Dear Mastermind,

To my knowledge Justin doesn't play basketball. As far as him sharing episodes, Justin does share episodes but it isn't his job to supply the entire forum with their UM fix.
That being said it would be nice if someone did put together a compilation of all the rare segments and maybe we could swap those privately...
Cheers Mastermind
kadrmas15 02-13-2010, 07:14 PM Hmm, personally I like playing basketball, so I would gladly take the role of Danny Wheeler.

Just by co-in-cidence... ;)
nohwheregirl 02-14-2010, 01:00 AM Bye, Mastermind  Let us know if anything interesting comes up on the other message boards.
As for the inevitable retirement thread fall-out:
DarkDante 02-14-2010, 01:14 AM You make some good points wiseguy but I still stand by my original statement.
For the record I believe that Justin made that statement you quoted in point #1 several years ago when I believe he himself was still looking for the segments himself. I can empathize with him to a degree on that point as I made a similar statement years ago regarding some rare material (not UM related) that I was trying to acquire at the time and now having acquired that material and then some, look back on that statement I made as a very naive one.
The reason being that once you have amassed a collection of rare material (regardless of what you are collecting) you realize that after awhile everyone and their mother starts wanting to hit you up for freebies. I still get an average of five requests per month for my "Unsurpassed Mysteries" set despite the fact that I've stated several times that I no longer have an interest in making dubs of my collection.
Basically the point I'm trying to get across is that perhaps much like me, Justin doesn't want to spend his time making dubs of his collection without getting something really worthwhile in return. Or maybe he just doesn't feel like giving away segments that he worked hard on tracking down for years. Again I can empathize with both sentiments.
You do make a valid point your fifth statement regarding people making mention of material they have which they have no intention of trading. I've seen that happen several times in the trading community and while in some cases I believe the person is just trying to provide some information, it inevitably does come off as boastful to a lot of people. So I have no argument with that.
The bottom line for me as far as this issue goes is that if you are going to invest a great deal of time in collecting something (as Justin obviously has done with UM) then you have a right to do whatever you want with it once you acquire it and in the spirit of full disclosure I wrote Justin last month requesting some segments and he never got back to me either. I'll live.
kadrmas15 02-14-2010, 03:52 AM Yes wiseguy, you are Mr. Heroic. I am so sick and tired of sitting here and listening to you spew your garbage. You threatened to have me banned even though that is not in your power. You also called my life 'a waste' and then just minutes later expected me to feel sorry for you because another poster called you what you perceived to be a derogatory name.
Now for the record, the above is justified in my saying. I have the pm's to prove it. I would have normally let it slide but what wiseguy said was above the top and his arrogance and the need for having his hand held all the time needed to be rained in. I do not want to get banned but if it comes to that, it comes to that. However this guy expects everyone to feel sorry for him when he called my own life 'a waste' for no obvious reason other than he could.

kadrmas15 02-14-2010, 04:30 AM Yup, because you know it is true. Keep maintaining the code of silence though. To be honest wiseguy, I actually liked you until you called my life 'a waste' for no obvious reason. Hey, you want to disagree or dislike my views or me than fine but when you call my life a waste when you had no right to say such a thing, that really hit home. Hey, I am no one special but my life is my life and all I was really trying to do was contribute to this forum. Frankly, if you would just apologize or even own up to the fact you said those things, than it would be a resolved issue.

kadrmas15 02-14-2010, 04:41 AM No, that does not work. Come on, I want to hear you explain to me why my life is 'a waste'? I mean, I am here and willing to listen so just explain how you came to that conclusion? I see an apology and even admitting you made those remarks are out so I think the least you can do is explain to me why my life is 'a waste'?
wiseguy182 02-14-2010, 06:32 AM kadrmas, I sent you a PM.
kadrmas15 02-14-2010, 07:01 AM Wiseguy and myself appear to have had a misunderstanding. I apologize to anything I said to him that he might have interpreted as offensive. Boy this will sound bad but I do not care: I have been in therapy for months not because of anger but more because of emotional/anxiety/depressive issues. So that is why I had a short fuse and I misinterpreted what wiseguy was trying to point out. Anyway, sorry for the personal tone that this whole debate took. Now that things have been put in proper perspective I have a much better understanding of things.
burbqueen 02-14-2010, 10:40 AM Mastermind I will miss u but I am on webslueths too by the same username. I also think u added me on facebook. Wiseguy and kardamas, hugs to you two.
SP4CE INV4DERZ 02-14-2010, 10:51 AM Woah there's **** and piss everywhere in here isn't there!!
Retirement posts never come off too well on an internet message board now do they! Kadrmas' last reply was probably a "say something civil" or be banned I suspect.
And the ****-stirrer in me asks, are we going to hear from the defendant?
nohwheregirl 02-14-2010, 05:42 PM ...Wiseguy and kardamas, hugs to you two.
Thanks for bringing us back around to the true meaning of St. Valentine's Day. :)
kadrmas15 02-14-2010, 06:40 PM Yup space invaderz take the cheap shot. No, I did not say something civil to avoid being banned. I was never even threatened with a ban but I was not thinking of that. Wiseguy and I will never be pals but it was a misunderstanding and it has since been cleared up.
Apostapler 02-15-2010, 01:11 AM Oh yeah I guess I can always head over the websleuths to see ya. I have an account, but I never post.
porchlight 02-15-2010, 01:29 AM Sorry to hear that. You have been an interesting and intriguing poster. Good luck with your health!
lilmissd 02-15-2010, 05:16 PM Mastermind, sorry to see you go man. You always gave me something to think about when I read one of your posts. Their thought provoking and genuine and I respect that greatly. Come on back sometime. Thanks for the memories I wish you all the best!
Hambone2421 02-15-2010, 05:58 PM Really wish you wouldn't leave bro. You've been an asset to this board.
