Bored She Hung Herself was a controversial episode of Hawaii Five-O that was originally broadcast on January 7, 1970 during the series's second season.

Don Miles uses a hanging-type exercise to promote his well-being. His girlfriend Wanda tries it and she dies in the attempt. Steven McGarrett suspects that there may have been foul play may have been involved.

The controversial content in this episode is the primary reason why this episode has been omitted from the Hawaii Five-O syndication packages. A viewer reportedly died while trying to practise the hanging exercise depicted in the episode, as revealed by Leonard Freeman's widow.

To make matters worse, the season 2 DVD release does not contain this episode. Several copies of this episode were destroyed, and some viewers were lucky enough to have taped this episode in its original broadcast. Had they done so, they should have buried the prints if they found out that the episode is missing from syndication.

Bootlegs of this episode are circulating about. When H5O first came out on DVD I bought a bootleg of the entire series as "Abandonment Insurance" One of the Disks contained this episode. After acquiring the official releases of this series I destroyed all of the bootlegs except the disk containing this episode and the disk containing S10's Number One with a Bullet - This one was spared because the official release has Music Replacement in it.
