Im not sure , but he seems to have an almost ageless quality about him. I remember I first saw the show back in 1991 when I was 12 years old. It never occourred to me he was already 40 when it started. Not that 40 is old in anyway, but I figured that he was a bit younger- in his late 20s-early 30s character. Then now at 90 he looks pretty healthy and active- more like someone in his 70s. Same for Connie Hines, although Im sorry she passed away last December. When I first saw the show, I thought she was in her early 20s, instead of 30.

They were both in their prime during the show, but I really think the network was going for a young adult-ish couple, and that was neat that it worked out like that. I heard Alan played a teenager also when he was over 40. Makes you think about age in a very different way.

I've always liked Alan Young. He always seems like such a nice man. :D
