Has anyone ever heard any stories of where, who, and how the "Jeannie" bottles that were used during the filming of I Dream of Jeannie were kept? For instance, I've heard that different people who worked on the show were "assigned" to look after a bottle during long hiatus periods and the days in-between filming. Apparently if a bottle broke or came up missing that person was held responsible. Has anyone heard anything like this or any other interesting or rarely told stories about the bottle?

There is a book about the TV show, there may be some info about the bottle in there.

I believe you are referring to Dreaming of Jeannie by Steve Cox. I have read it but there is nothing like what I'm speaking about (stories about the "handling" of the bottle during the series original run, people asking for or about a bottle, etc.).
I appreciate your reply:)

...Barbara was given one of the bottles when the series ended production...and it was one of the few items in her home that remained unbroken when that January 1994 earthquake hit her area.
I have one of the unpainted green bottles (which I picked up in a thrift shop, years ago)...and I don't what I'd do if I opened it one day, and....that's why it's in my closet.

Hi, has anyone got the production order for I Dream of Jeannie season 2 please? I've only just found this site and the page advertised with the possible info no longer exists sadly...

From the book "Diary of a Genie" by Richard D. Barnes - an interview with Richard Albain head of special effects;
"The paint scheme was designed by Robert Purcell. Only two (or four at most) were ever used on the show, and because they were so expensive to paint ($200 plus back then), nobody ever dropped one (except in 'Hurricane Jeannie' after Mr. Albain had already left Columbia."
If his memory was correct that would have been
1. Barbara's bottle she still has today.
2. the Double pink bottle (which survives today, but was broken in an earthquake and glued back together).
3. The broken "Hurricane Jeanne" bottle (assuming the broken pieces were thrown out after filming.
4. Another bottle lost to time...
