I personally think Avatar is highly overrated

Yeah, Titanic had 15 consecutive #1 weekends and Avatar had 7.

I think it's because it's the only children's movie currently playing.


Since kids can't go to the movies alone they usually go with their parents and some families make it a group event to go and see the children's flicks.

You also have those who don't like the action and/or drama and would rather see the children's movies.

There's also sales coming in from kids who are too young for the R-rated flicks and pay to get in with the children's movie.


From this you get double and triple the ticket sales since the adults have to pay an adult price.

Well, I think they timed it perfectly, releasing it around Valentine's Day, so it doesn't really surprise me that much. Avatar is just not appealing to me at all. Can't figure out why it's so hyped up. If I want to see blue people, I'll go to Vegas and see the Blue Man Group!
