Does everyone else get a "Apache Server Test page powered by CentOS" when you go to http://www.tvtango.com ? I discovered this site yesterday and was wanting to look at it more but this has been coming since last night around 9pm. Is that a problem for everyone?

I just logged on to tvtango.com without any problems. It looks like a very interesting site. I'll have to explore it further later!

You're not alone. It's been happening to me, too, the last few weeks. Ever since then, it would be down for a few days, and then for maybe one day it would be back to normal, then it would be down again. Very frustrating. I'm guessing it's just a server issue.

OK, after I complained about their site being down via their Twitter, they just sent me a tweet saying that others haven't had any problems. Hmmm.....the plot thickens.....

OK, so I e-mailed them about the problems benjamoon and I were having with the site, and we finally got to the bottom of this. Here's their reply:
Hi Brandon
We investigated the issue and identified the root cause.
We have a system in place that identifies users who _might_ be scraping data from our site, and it blocks IP addresses of those users for a period of time. The system uses a proprietary algorithm based on number of pageviews, time spent, and types of pages being viewed, and it has apparently identified you as a potential data scraper. If you don't view too many pages in a day, then this is not typically an issue for the vast majority our users.
Cheers,
Mike

So basically because we spend so much time on that site, their system thinks we're hackers. How nice.
