Mel Gibson has wandered towards the edge of darkness again by calling a Chicago TV reporter a seven-letter word on the air.

The once-and-apparently-future Mad Mel employed an epithet that rhymes with "crass bowl," after WGN-TV entertainment reporter Dean Richards kept pressing him on the fallout of his 2006 drunk-driving arrest, during which the actor shouted anti-Semitic and sexist insults at a female police officer.

Not particularly interested in revisiting that chapter, Gibson remarks, "That's almost four years ago, dude. I've moved on, I guess you haven't... I've done all the necessary mea culpas, so let's move on, dude. Come on."

Richards wraps up the interview by reminding viewers to check out Edge of Darkness, Gibson's highly touted return to movie acting that's proven to be, shall we say, less than a box-office smash.

Gibson says his goodbyes, takes a gulp of coffee, and, apparently believing he's off the air, calls Edwards a crass bowl. The fun can be found here.

Matthew 12:34 "For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks." Another words you can tell what a mans believes in his heart by the words that come out of his mouth.

He got arrested for DUI, made anti-Semitic remarks, left his wife of almost 30 years, shacked up with a younger woman and had a kid out of wedlock. Now this. Says a lot about his character, doesn't it??

I am not a Gibson fan by any stretch of the imagination, but if muttering the word @$$ means you're unreligious, I, for one, am doomed. ;)

Here's a newsflash: Mel Gibson's a Jerk. And now for the weather...

Well it did seem like the inteviewer kept pressing him. If you keep egging on someone they're going to blow up sooner or later.

^ I have to agree. Mel said his peace on that, but that person clearly couldn't let it go and obviously was looking to push a few buttons......

I meant that the way Mel Gibson conducts himself in public is a disgrace. There was no reason for him to act like that. You could tell he's not in control of his facilties. :thumbsdow

I was never a fan of his, but since that DUI after his making such a big deal out of that Passions of the Christ, I have lost all respect for him.
