Marvo301 01-26-2010, 07:15 PM That's fantastic news! It's high time this TV classic got a full DVD release and junk! :) catlover79 01-26-2010, 07:16 PM Awesome!!!! party: :bouncers :jig: :clap MickeyMac 01-26-2010, 07:35 PM About f*cking time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It will be nice to get the rest of this series. snelson 01-26-2010, 08:09 PM you beat me to it i was just going to report this. i am very happy at this news. gilligan fanatic 01-26-2010, 08:19 PM Great! The series only got better as they got older. Ron Ron 01-26-2010, 08:33 PM I have a dilemma. I own Seasons 1 and 2. Should I get Season 3 and wait to see the rest released individuallyy or buy the whole series with 3, 4 , 5 and 6 with extras included?? Madame X 01-26-2010, 08:41 PM Finally! This is such great news! I hope on the complete set they don't try to do something cute with the packaging. I'd prefer to have the set packaged by season in individual cases rather than in sleeves. Packaging issues kept my from buying sets of The Brady Bunch (astroturf), The Flintstones (bedrock TV), I Love Lucy (heart), King of Queens (IPS truck), etc. Instead, I shopped around and waited for sales. For me, I hope for keepcase/jewelcase packaging with single sided discs. I would buy the entire set and give my first two seasons away. McGillicuddy 01-26-2010, 09:22 PM I have a dilemma. I own Seasons 1 and 2. Should I get Season 3 and wait to see the rest released individuallyy or buy the whole series with 3, 4 , 5 and 6 with extras included?? I'm waiting to see what the complete set looks like, what the extras are, and if the extras will be available on the individual sets or not. If The complete series isn't bulky, and fits well on my shelf, I think I will go ahead and get it, even though I have seasons 1 & 2. 1960'sTVfan 01-26-2010, 10:43 PM I agree this is good news. Although it will probably be a little expensive, I plan to get the complete series set. The episodes will likely be uncut, my main concern is how the complete set will be packaged. I will be waiting to get that information. Some of the packaging used in these DVD sets lately is atrocious. Jude The Obscure 01-27-2010, 12:25 AM I am very happy for all you Beaver fans...........I know you have been very frustrated!! ponytail 01-27-2010, 06:21 AM OMG! This is great! I held off buying the first 2 seasons hoping this would someday happen. bluthree 01-27-2010, 09:22 AM Great news! Cant wait to buy more Leave It To Beaver on DVD. And I will be buying the complete box set. Got to replace the already released season 1 and 2 sets.As I had nothing but problems with my season 1 and 2 sets. Well the side A sides work ok. But when I try to watch episodes on side B I get nothing but freeze ups. catlover79 01-27-2010, 10:38 AM ^ I HATE double-sided discs. HATE them!!   McGillicuddy 01-27-2010, 02:35 PM ^ I HATE double-sided discs. HATE them!!   Agreed (I hate them too!) I forgot Universal's sets were double sided. I think most studios got away from doing this though. McGillicuddy 01-27-2010, 02:42 PM www.tvshowsondvd.com is reporting this! This is great news! I really like the way Shout! is handling Leave It To Beaver. That they are releasing the seasons individually, but also releasing the series (With extras!) at the same time, shows they're going out of their way to give consumers an option, so that more fans will be able to own Beaver, at some point. Unlike Fox Studios long Mary Tyler Moore Show fiasco. bluthree 01-27-2010, 04:10 PM ^ I HATE double-sided discs. HATE them!!   Yeah I hate them too. I always did did have problems with the TV shows that was released on flipper discs. Except The Dukes of Hazzard season sets. Have yet had any problems with those double sidded DVD's. It was mainly Universal that I had problems with. I was so relieved to see that Universal did not go the flipper route when they released all of The Incredible Hulk season sets on DVD. Are the studios still releasing shows on flipper discs? The last flipper set I bought was Chips season 2. Marvo301 01-27-2010, 11:07 PM Yeah I hate them too. Are the studios still releasing shows on flipper discs? The last flipper set I bought was Chips season 2. The only double sided DVD's I own are the Gilligan's Island season sets which were put out by Warner Brothers. I haven't had any problems with them but there still a pain because you have to be so careful handling them and it difficult to tell which side is which. Tap Dancer 01-29-2010, 12:31 PM www.tvshowsondvd.com is reporting this! This is great news! That is great news! Thanks! :) MickeyMac 01-29-2010, 02:34 PM Countdown until this comes out. Hughsgirl 02-01-2010, 10:24 AM As Mickey Mac so elequently said.....ABOUT ****ING TIME!! LOL! I was estatic when I was told about this over the weekend and I will probably just buy the entire series even though I also have the first two. I'm really surprised that alot of you have had some issues with the two sided disc sets that Universal brought out. I was lucky to have no trouble at all. I don't care about packaging as long as the discs play without a hitch and they will be uncut as promised. Marvo, Mickey Mac and Hugh's Girl, I hope you all get yours soon!!!!!! Hughsgirl 07-05-2010, 09:59 AM Taking a small break from Mayfield just to say....GREAT SET!! I'm loving it! My biggest problem is deciding which eposode I want to watch next so I'm skipping around all over......LOL! I won't watch the first two seasons until I get through 3-6 because that's all I had to watch until the set was complete. I can't believe my Universal sets didn't wear out from the constant playing. MickeyMac 07-07-2010, 12:18 PM Finally finally got it. It arrived yesterday. I am thrilled to say the least. Been plowing through season one so far. Hughsgirl 07-07-2010, 03:16 PM Finally finally got it. It arrived yesterday. I am thrilled to say the least. Been plowing through season one so far. Hey Mickey, glad you got you set. Didn't you also have the Universal sets of season 1 & 2? If so, were they "uncut" or did Shout have extra scenes that Universal didn't add? MickeyMac 07-07-2010, 04:51 PM Hey Mickey, glad you got you set. Didn't you also have the Universal sets of season 1 & 2? If so, were they "uncut" or did Shout have extra scenes that Universal didn't add? As far as I can tell Shout Factory has season one and two with uncut episodes. I won't watch the first two seasons until I get through 3-6 because that's all I had to watch until the set was complete. I can't believe my Universal sets didn't wear out from the constant playing. It IS hard to sit and watch in any kind of order. I started with season 3, and realizing some of the changes from the first 2 seasons, like a different house, I wanted to go back to some of one & two. But I was also anxious to see when the guys are older in the last season. I guess the best way to do it is watch disc 1 from each season first. Marvo301 07-07-2010, 09:53 PM UPS just delivered my Leave It To Beaver full series set!!!! party: Hughsgirl 07-08-2010, 01:32 PM As far as I can tell Shout Factory has season one and two with uncut episodes. I figured that Mickey, but what I meant was in comparing the two different sets....Shout vs. Universal....did Universal leave anything out that Shout added? The reason I ask is because I have read different posts throughout the years after Universal came out with 1&2 and some claim that they weren't "uncut" as promised so I was wondering if Shout had extra scenes that the Universal sets didn't. When I watched them they had scenes and dialog that wasn't on TV Land crappy version so I didn't know what they were talking about. I don't intend on watching the first two seasons until I'm done with the last four because that's all I had for so long and you mentioned you were watching them so that's why I asked you. I got my set last week, and I had the same problem as you,as I did not know what episode I should watch first? So I too have been skipping around threw all 6 seasons. Gush I have even been finding episodes that I have never scene before. It is a wonderful set. And I'm so glad to have this wonderful set sitting on my DVD shelf. Now if only Shout can get there hands on Diffrent Strokes? |
