Hustler Video announced its "much-anticipated" porn parody lineup for 2010-11. It includes parodies of Fox's "Glee" (Hello, what are they going to sing? Don't you think obtaining music rights is going to be an issue? What do you mean Hustler couldn't care less?) and HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" (shudder). Also, "I Dream of Jeannie" (finally!), MTV's "The Hills" (somehow seems even more out-of-date than "Jeannie") and E!'s "The Soup" (huh). This is the same company that just released "Nailin Palin."

I recall reading the New York DAILY NEWS in 1974- and sure enough, among the small ads of "porno" films in the movie pages, was one titled "Dream Of Genie". It wasn't a direct "steal" or parody (the girl didn't even look like Barbara), but I read a description of it years later. It was a smutty film, yes, about a guy who finds a beautiful genie in a....lamp, or bottle? I don't recall. But she manages to find her way INTO him, as smoke. And he has to.....well, if I have to spell it out, we're all in trouble, so you can guess what the main attraction was. As I said, it was probably a cheap little film with VERY limited special effects.
The idea of a supernatural creature and a mortal "getting it on" isn't new in the porno buisness- it all depends on how imaginitive the writers and producers are (and the leading characters), and how much of a budget they have.
Even Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla presented their "tribute" to Jeannie on "THE MAN SHOW", way back in September 2002. It was smutty and stupid, to be sure. Besides, Adam wasn't the "Major Nelson" type. And you certainly can't get your jollies by making love to "smoke"! Echoes of that series linger today on "JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE".
So let Hustler Video do their worst. Only hard-core porn viewers will buy "their" version of "JEANNIE" to see what might happen. As for me-
