Actor and environmental activist Ted Danson, best known for his long-running role as Sam Malone on Cheers and current turn on the HBO series Bored to Death, will release what publishing house Rodale calls “a celebratory and cautionary look at the world’s oceans,” co-written with journalist Mike D’Orso.

Says Danson in a press statement, “For over 20 years, I’ve been watching this issue grow and build in the public consciousness and I am convinced that we’re now at a tipping point. The rise in awareness of, and fight against, climate change has convinced me that people are ready for a book to that brings to light the critical issues regarding the future of our oceans.”

I find this to be a very interesting piece of information! I had no idea that Ted Danson was that much of an environmentalist. I also had no idea that he was writing a book. I will probably read it. Do you have any idea of its publication date?

Anything about oceans or ocean life appeals to me since I volunteer at the Seattle Aquarium. Love ocean life... espeically sea otters. I've seen things that Ted has done (shows, etc) for environmental causes. I'd be very interested in getting a book like this. Thanks for the info!
